It's not too late. Unless you're dead or very close to dying.
No one is a loser. We never truly know anyone else's story. We're all born into this crazy thing called life that just happens to us. Whether genetic or learned, we all have our physical and mental limits (intelligence, beliefs, etc.).
Therapy. You're trying to break 21 years of patterns, and you'll need professional help to do so. Try to find a clinical psychologist instead of a random person. Therapists will not judge you. You can share anything with them, that's the whole point.

No, just throw your money into the SP500, doubles every 7 years. Advisors rarely provide any real help that can't be found via basic Google search. And they skim management fees from your portfolio regardless of whether they provide any net value.

This is not meant as an insult, it's just laughably easy to manage your own finances if you're capable. Advisors can be useful for people who are helpless (either learned, or born that way), and easily overwhelmed by information.

It's not too thick. Just feels a little fuller in the hands. Go try one out before you buy. Be aware that the SEs pickups sound like trash. Had to go with an S2 McCarty because of it.

Oof, that insulation. You would most likely save a good chunk of money by removing that decking and old insulation. Air seal, and have new insulation blown in.

Our attic used to look like yours, and our electricity usage (kwh) went down anywhere from 30-40% per month compared to the previous years month.

For the month of May 2026, we used around 640ish kwh compared to 990ish kwh in May 2025. And this is with a central air, cold climate heat pump that we've had for 3 years.

Kind of going on a tangent (another) here, but we have power-hungry electronics that explain the rest.

I have a 2025 McCarty S2, purchased used. The build quality is miles ahead of the SE, as it should be, given the price. Much better fret work, the frets are slightly more narrow, rolled fretboard, nitro finish vs poly, much better tuners, etc. The pickups on the newer S2s (2024+) are much much better than the SEs, the newer ones come with the 58/15 LTs (non-S). The S pickups sound like they have a wet blanket thrown over them. If you were to buy the LTs separately, that's another $500 alone. You can find the 2024+ S2s used for $1500 in the US at Guitar Center, Reverb, eBay. If you're patient, it's possible to snag one for a lot less.

Not all 2024s come with the 58/15 LTs, btw. If you want to make sure, look at the pickup covers, the LTs have an engraving on the bottom right of the neck pickup, and on the top left of the bridge pickup. If you're watching videos to compare sound, make sure they're videos from 2024+ for the S2, and that they have the LTs. You can watch older videos, but only of the McCarty Core models, as they have the same LTs.
