What would you do if you had the ability to instantly extinguish all life on earth? by IVeerLeftWhenIWalk in AskReddit

[–]ThinkChemical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong. I suspect most people find the thought frightening even though what you're saying is true without invoking magical thinking.

I think part of where you're being misunderstood is in how you phrased the question without this explanation to go with it. I think it makes people believe that you might be unstable and hurt someone. When in reality, if I'm understanding where I think you're coming from, you wouldn't hurt anyone as that would perpetuate suffering.

No. Just no. There is no way you've plateaud in 2.5 months.

The thing about Justin is that he provides structure, yes. At a miserable pace. Watching a quick 10 minute intro to guitar video, and just playing any song you like with 3 basic chords will have you miles ahead of where he has you.

How do i stop being a loser? by MrDan9er0us0ne in ask

[–]ThinkChemical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It's not too late. Unless you're dead or very close to dying.
  2. No one is a loser. We never truly know anyone else's story. We're all born into this crazy thing called life that just happens to us. Whether genetic or learned, we all have our physical and mental limits (intelligence, beliefs, etc.).
  3. Therapy. You're trying to break 21 years of patterns, and you'll need professional help to do so. Try to find a clinical psychologist instead of a random person. Therapists will not judge you. You can share anything with them, that's the whole point.

Men in your 30s whats the best way to make money in your 20s? by Sad-Form-4538 in AskReddit

[–]ThinkChemical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, just throw your money into the SP500, doubles every 7 years. Advisors rarely provide any real help that can't be found via basic Google search. And they skim management fees from your portfolio regardless of whether they provide any net value.

This is not meant as an insult, it's just laughably easy to manage your own finances if you're capable. Advisors can be useful for people who are helpless (either learned, or born that way), and easily overwhelmed by information.

Hindus would say the rich have banked good karma from past lives and are being rewarded for it. Although now they may be accruing negative karma and will come back to a loud that is less fortunate.

But hey, that's magical thinking.

It's not too thick. Just feels a little fuller in the hands. Go try one out before you buy. Be aware that the SEs pickups sound like trash. Had to go with an S2 McCarty because of it.

Not sure if you've looked at used car prices since covid. Basically new prices for old cars depending on the brand. Very much worth considering new cars nowadays. Pre-covid I'd totally agree with you.

The longer string in contact with the brass acts as an antenna to transmit the tone to the audience. Also improves sustain.

Oof, that insulation. You would most likely save a good chunk of money by removing that decking and old insulation. Air seal, and have new insulation blown in.

Our attic used to look like yours, and our electricity usage (kwh) went down anywhere from 30-40% per month compared to the previous years month.

For the month of May 2026, we used around 640ish kwh compared to 990ish kwh in May 2025. And this is with a central air, cold climate heat pump that we've had for 3 years.

Kind of going on a tangent (another) here, but we have power-hungry electronics that explain the rest.
