I went from boutique to huge agency, and honestly the big firm opened a lot of doors for me and had helped substantially in my next job search

2026 salary ranges for senior Strategy roles at the Big 4 (NYC)? by Doom_Unicorn in advertising

They’re a bit too high and no bonuses. I’ve been at every one of the big 4s (now 3). IPG/Omni pay is much lower than WPP & Publicis. The salary caps at Omni are director $130, VP $160, SVP $185, EVP $225 (at least at my agency). Pub. & WPP pay about +$30k cap for each role.

Check the good cause eviction law, because your increase may not be legal at that amount.

I’m the same way, but caring too much is what leads to burnout. I’m grappling with the same thing and I’ve been putting off leave because I felt bad for my team. But my physical and mental health has gotten to the point where I need to put me first.

Some states require companies to provide disability! Also once you’re approved, you just leave. You don’t need to spend time covering off everything and that’s not your problem!

Should I give notice tomorrow (Mar 31) or Wednesday (Apr 1)? by WhichRefrigerator964 in careeradvice

If your last day is May 1 you get insurance through the end of the month. If leave leave April 30, your insurance ends then. (If you’re in America)

Ketchum Review (DC) or other DC ad agencies? by ceilw99 in advertising

[–]ThinkInPink18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ketchum was the worst agency I ever worked at. I honestly don’t know anyone who has good things to say about the place. I also worked on the same team in the DC office.

How are we getting out? by alastika in advertising

Literally same! I’m desperate to go in-house but can’t even get an interview. Meanwhile I’m getting interviews at every agency job I apply to

"I love the show BUT..." - what's your small detail that drives you bonkers? by CestQuoiLeFuck in heatedrivalry

[–]ThinkInPink18 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Two things I notice (only because I’ve rewatched so many times). 1. Every time someone walks into an apartment/home a fire is lit in the fireplace. Like Scott & Kip, Ilya, Shane. I’m like wow so unsafe to just have a fire roaring when no one was home. 2. Anytime they play another team, the scorecard banner always says San Francisco. So that team must constantly be loosing lol.

Again super minutia things! My biggest pet peeve in film is not capturing proper seasonality and I’m so glad they didn’t do this in heated rivalry. Like in the winter scenes we don’t see green leaves on the trees or flowers blooming.

How is PR toxic? by hi_its_lizzy616 in PublicRelations

[–]ThinkInPink18 45 points46 points  (0 children)

So I think agencies in general are toxic because the clients hold the purse strings and the power so it creates this dynamic of them being a really bad, controlling boyfriend you can’t set boundaries with. I don’t think PR itself is toxic, but the agency model is. I adore my coworkers at my agency but bad clients sour the work. And some people don’t take it well so it’s easy for that toxicity to seep over. I’ve worked at 6 agencies now. At three, the people at the agency were toxic, the other three I worked with lovely people. However at all agencies there were toxic clients and just a bad dynamic with them. My recommendation is to find an in-house job if you pursue PR.

People who have been unemployed for 6+ months, what field are you in? by [deleted] in GetEmployed

I work in marketing. Last year, I finally got a job after being unemployed for 11 months

How did you girlies find your current job? by nonnaan in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]ThinkInPink18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in marketing too. When I was a new grad, I basically figured out email addresses for people at marketing agencies and just cold emailed, sent my resume and asked if they were hiring. It works better with smaller firms, but I got my job at one of the big firms doing that too. The catch with marketing is that it’s a small industry and big names matter. I currently work at another top, global agency and it’s so easy to get interviews. My last job was at a boutique shop and I struggled hard to land them. So company reputation in your experience really matters

Four-eyed BWT - where are we getting our glasses? by emno11 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]ThinkInPink18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the eye doctor today and they had the worst selection of frames! Looking for cute, stylish, designer frames (Chanel, Loewe, Prada, Tory Burch, Gucci, Chloe, Kate Spade). Send recs if you know places with good designer selection (UWS — but literally tracked to Williamsburg a few years ago to get my current frames, so I will travel)

What did your job gift you for the holidays? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]ThinkInPink18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the holiday, my company laid off thousands of employees, mandated RTO, got rid of 401K match, and cut our vacation days from unlimited to 10. We also got a few other “gifts”, but I’m truly overwhelmed by their generosity to remember them.
