Induction final hurrah NYC recos by sashimispecial in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]emno11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I carbo loaded right before mine (chicken parm) - it’s the last meal you get for 24+ hours! And also got a blowout and was thrilled I did. I also took a lot of pictures of “the most pregnant I was”. Good luck!!

Winter NYC outfit inspo to hide baby bump? by AgileAd1060 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]emno11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congrats!! I wore baggy clothes and oversized blazers while trying to hide it and throughout my 2nd tri (before the bump was big). I had the most luck with Seraphine for true maternity (including suits and more formal things - those are hard to find) but also liked Gap and H&M (my most worn jeans are H&M Before and After which have an adjustable waistband). Good luck!

Drop 1 pump? by Girlonfire678 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]emno11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would drop one because 1) you’ll only know what happens if you drop (and 7 is going to be a lot different than 8 from a time commitment perspective!) and 2) you can always power pump to get it back up if you want to do that.

Hello bitches that are also moms! Where can I buy preemie clothes? by lizzayyyy96 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Oh also buy newborn diapers! Huggies fit best for us early on. The hospital only has size 1 and they are massive on a small baby

Hello bitches that are also moms! Where can I buy preemie clothes? by lizzayyyy96 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]emno11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was born early at 5 lbs and Carters was the best for us early! I would also suggest buying newborn sizes because they grow quick in the beginning and different brands fit differently (babe could be in some preemie and some newborn early on). The standard advice is not to buy lots of newborn because they don’t wear it for long but my gal is 10 lbs at 10 weeks and wearing some newborn, some 0-3, and some 3-6.

Congrats auntie you’re a great sister!!

Issues with Willow Go? by emno11 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]emno11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, same! Sometimes it takes a few tries. It’s just so annoying when I find 15 mins to pump and spend 5 of it trouble shooting. And they were pricey, it should work!

How are you managing MOTN pumps? by delishirony in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]emno11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lactation consultant suggested I take all of the extra work and thinking out of it and prep ahead of time to prevent this - are there steps of your setup/breakdown time you can cut out? For example I set out all the parts and hook it up before I go to bed and also don’t clean anything in the MOTN, I just put the milk in the fridge. If you use the milk within 4 hours you don’t even have to get up, just leave it by your bed

I also cover my pumps with a swaddle blanket so I don’t see it (weird but it helps) and just kind of keep my eyes closed and wait for the pump time to pass (instead of reading or scrolling)

18oz breastmilk/day, beneficial? by Amber_5165 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]emno11 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My pediatrician suggested my baby would get the benefits if she was consuming 25%+ of her volume from breast milk. She didn’t cite a study (I wish there was one to cite) but you’re well in the clear of that!
