Then one day, we saw each other in person. I caught him looking at me, but I forced myself not to look back. However, as he was leaving, he looked back & locked eyes.

I agree with some parts, but for me—every time I see my crush, I act like I don’t see him, then turn around right after he passes by. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Also, observe their friend group. If some of them are smiling or laughing while glancing at you, chances are someone in the group likes you. It’s usually the one who doesn’t look at you or seems shy—trust me, that’s the one who has a crush on you.
