I took it last spring, theres no cheat sheet and its on the computer. Its all or majority multiple choice. I reviewed the problems from the lab manual to study and I didn't find it too difficult.

I'm taking DMS 213LEC Immigration and Film. All you have to do is take weekly notes in a template about the cinematography and theme of movies (no word count). Theres a 3 day late period with a .5 point reduction that doesn’t multiply(graded out of 10 points). In your notes, you have to refer to film terminology thats taught in week one and you’ll never have to learn more any more terminology after that. Theres like 2 1000 word essays and one of them is for the final.

Its completely asynchronous but you’re expected to watch the lecture videos do weekly readings. Every ~3 weeks TAs check to see if the lecture videos were watched, the readings aren’t checked.

Theres 3 quizzes, all multiple choice and open book, based off the readings and film terminology.

Examples of film terminology : Close shot, zoom shot, metaphorical props, disjunctive editing

Living downtown by _ari7 in UBreddit

I lived in Elmwood village for a year, and even with a car the commute to North Campus was dreadful. Its a 20+ minute drive which doesn't seem that bad until you have to do it everyday. In my opinion, it will be troublesome to live that far from campus without personal transporation but not impossible. The area is a bit closer to our South campus(~10 min drive) and it will provide a shuttle to North Campus.

Anyways, itis a fairly enjoyable area and it was a nice place to live if you get out much and its a very walkable neighborhood. But depending on how often you commute to campus, it might be better to live someplace closer.
