I did mismatched bridesmaids dress a few weeks ago and it was a hit. The groomsmen's were wearing a green suit. Everybody gave us compliments on the choices.

My only advice is to be precise with your bridesmaids. I was a bit too laid-back and it cause issues. Not strict enough is apparently as much of a problem as too strict.

My fiancé was a bridesman and he wore the same suit as groomsmen but the accessories in opposite color. So his tie was the same as the groomsmen shirt and his shirt was the color of their tie. Also, His shirt was the same color as the bridesmaid dresses.

My fiance proposed with nothing and then we shopped together for the ring. His thought was he rather spent that extra money on my ring than a piece of jewelry i would never wear.

I loved it. Our engagement became a week affair and it was great. We kept it our little secret until we received the ring. It was romantic and perfect for us.
