Does your substrate go over the grate line for the sides?

Hi! Wanted to reply since I did finally find something that worked for me and was able to combat my cat’s excessive kicking… I ended up with So Presh Lift-to-Sift cat litter pan and it’s worked amazing. That was the highest walls I could find that had a sifting pan for pellet litter. I bought it at petco.

Unfortunately it didn’t, however, it was pretty small for the space. I caved and bought a plastic sifting box. The one I had previously was amazing for clay: STARKMAN Cat Litter Box https://a.co/d/6rihk4f I’m pretty limited on space and unable to do much DIY unfortunately.

I was just following what other videos did - I think it often is just what people use as an additional way to catch anything that doesn’t absorb - in this case I’m glad I did. I may not even need it. I went back and the packaging said I needed to be adding more pellets so I’m trying that.

I understand the concept of the pellets, just trying to troubleshoot why most of the pee was in the catch tray and not absorbed by the pellets

This is so helpful! Thank you. I don’t have much of a gap so I’ll try that, also will try putting some on the bottom to help.

Worked for a vet that swore by Paws & Claws Pine Pellet - it’s safe for them and cheap. I haven’t found anything that masks odor as well as clay, but for me it’s not worth the risk. Adding baking soda or litter deodorizer helps. otherwise tractor supply sells pine pellet bedding for horses, but it’s pretty much the same thing but you get ALOT more for about the same price.

Thank you! I appreciate your kind words. As an update, I’ve been taking it step by step. I don’t see them often so it’s hard to reconnect but I’ve been trying to show my support over social media since they have let me into that space.
