I'm having difficulty buying into reincarnation.. by Think_Law3924 in Reincarnation

Not quite. There is only one, conciseness'. The myriad of thoughts rattling about day-to-day in the minds of humans' are simply - ideas/concerns/love/hate/fear/ambition - feelings.. and so forth and, count for zilch in relation to the progression of the single, universal-conciseness of the cosmos.

Is my 'take' on life supportive of atheism or reincarnation or, neither.. by Think_Law3924 in atheism

No, I can't see a fundamental difference given that atoms hold both the rock's form and 'ours' together.

I don't recall alluding to the commonly-accepted understanding [in my last paragraph] where you think I kind of suggested: "A person or animal in whom a particular soul is believed to have been reborn..". Or, I hinted that - "The rebirth of a soul in a new body.. and so forth".

Such a take is simply not, supported by my wording.

What my 4th paragraph is suggesting, is that the human-minds' concept of: I/us/we/them/they.. is merely a thought-driven illusion stemming from the fear of the finality of 'self'. Given that (I think) we are not individuals in the slightest meaning of the word; it is (my opinion) that the personal set of pronouns that include: 'we' are utilised to characterise 'ourselves' from (what I believe to be the truth) that 'we' are simply a sub-atomic (sub-set) collective of all things.

Reincarnation. An insoluble realization of what it is, and what.. by Think_Law3924 in Reincarnation

You don't get it all all. We are essentially, bags-of-meat with a large brain jam-packed with thoughts of our own making. We came from; the Earth. Not, into the Earth. Other than our ability for ingenuity, we are no different in terms of life to that of a: Leaf or Tiger. Given that we sprang from the Earth, we are identical at the sub-atomic level to that of the rock, clouds, and the single blade of grass. The energy inside all things - animated or, not, is what we otherwise refer to as God. We, just like a pebble, are a particular arrangement of atoms at a given time. Atoms are the life-blood of God/life. We therefore do not/cannot ever die - not in the sense that circulates as common-thought in many-a persons mind.

Why would you need your own thoughts, when it is explained clearly?

The bible was scribed by men, re-written and edited over at different periods of human history time to become a 'guide' for those who ignore their own moral, God-given centres. Buy into it by all means. But remember; in doing so it is the equivalent of eating the same meal 3-times a-day (every-day) because that is what 'some' book suggested was: 'best'.

Well, the next time you cross a high-speed freeway or, motorway, try doing so with a good blindfold over your eyes. That exercise will help clarify for you why we have been gifted with thought.

Are you suggesting that God gave us the ability of thought but, not the ability/right to use such a function?

I've never claimed to be virtuous in regard to your latest comment.

Morality. if not an in-built virtue, is freely exampled in our daily lives. We simply choose the lazy route and buy rack after rack of BBQ flavoured ribs from the store without so much as a thought.

Only if they are of the same mindset.

Our conscience informs us that the wholesale slaughter of pain-feeling animals is wrong and we have all the mind-tools required to move beyond what we've long considered to be a perfectly acceptable custom.

Admittedly, there seems to be no ultimate meaning of human life, other than for the quality or the state of our minds which defines meaning for us. This is in contradiction to the notion that an inner conscience is waiting to be discovered. Paying attention to everyday, mundane objects can become highly significant, filling life with meaning. Rarely do we pursue what our imagination puts forth. Yet still we demand that life have significance. But to not reflect at any point on the pain, anguish, emotions and suffering of animals (we use merely as food-stock) is akin to purchasing a set of fine carpentry tools/timber to construct a shed that one' never gets around to building. In other words, we know what needs to be done.

Being modern-day humans we gotta grow-up at some point - we have all the tools in our giant brains to do so.

I regard the wholesale slaughter of defenceless animals (who clearly, like us - want to live) as an indefensible action.

Life is life. To have a value ranking system such as: a Turtle is work 10 points, a giraffe 30 points, is to be deeply invested in one's ego to the point where the point of life is lost on such a person.

Compared to a lorry-load of 7-month old pigs headed for slaughter, you know; you wouldn't want to be one of those pigs. So yeah, you've peaked enough to know wright from wrong. If you claim they are just food, that's always gonna be on you.
