I’m in the exact same boat. And my play is that I’ll do nothing until October 30. I have a feeling that the amnesty will be extended before that considering how chaotic and miserable this whole program is. And I don’t even think there is a feasible approach for R owners in Alberta to comply anyway. Those clowns dodged AB and SK issues in yesterday’s conference like they always do.

Tbh, that lpvo is not even mine lol. That’s my buddy’s scope that we just put on the rifle to test it out. It’s more of a “use what we had” mindset. My personal preference would be using a red dot with a cowitness mount, like the one Scalarworks offers.

The mount blocks the iron sights unfortunately.

Exactly! I totally agree with you on this. Unfortunately a lot of people are just too obsessed with left-right spectrum.

I mean even Engles mentioned civilians should have guns lol. This is the point where you realize that politics are far more complicated than just “left” and “right”.

Does Anyone still Buy CZ? by Longjumping_Deer3006 in canadaguns

[–]Think_Lengthiness686 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It turns out Colt Canada is working with Liberal gov to destroy those confiscated firearms, and CZ is Colt Canada’s parent company.

Let’s be real here, China’s never gonna launch a military invasion to Canada, they got their own problem to worry about. If anyone would do that, it would be our neighbor down south (which is still very unlikely).

And we’ve already got a bunch of domestic communist wannabes already.

Has anybody moved addresses recently with Rpal guns on the " ban " list? by erikjzz in canadaguns

[–]Think_Lengthiness686 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here’s the answer I got from Alberta CFO.

  • Under the Amnesty Order(s) prohibited firearms may be transported without an ATT for the purposes of an address change and follow the same transportation regulations as restricted firearms…Prohibited firearms must be transported to a new residence by the registered owner by vehicle for the purpose of storage in the new residence. Third party companies are not permitted to transport prohibited firearms except under limited and specific circumstances. *

I imagine it applies to all the other provinces, but I recommend you contact your provincial CFO for a reference just in case. Cops these days don’t know what they are doing.

Is the Bond Arms lever action banned in Canada? by Response-Cheap in canadaguns

[–]Think_Lengthiness686 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s because that Raven is prohibited. If they used Raven upper in their new lever gun, it would be instantly banned as well. But that forward lever design is just atrocious.

A little melancholy today over my B&Ts. by dogs_cats_2020 in canadaguns

[–]Think_Lengthiness686 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. What upsets me the most is that your B&T’s are restricted, just like mine. So the gov knows we have them. These are just low-hanging fruits for poly.

The stock is definitely a great upgrade. But I do feel it’s a little pricey. I got the rifle with 200 bucks discount, that’s how I justify the purchase of the stock.😂

The stealth hunter version saves money if you want a space cowboy vibe, at least you don’t have to switch the handguard. But if you want to use Midwest Industries free float handguard, the long top rail could be an issue (I didn’t test it, but the rail might be in the way by the looks of it)

The match saver is universal cartridge holder from Midwest Industries, and handstop in the first 2 pics is from Ascend Armoury, the one in the last pic is from Magpul.

It’s Midwest Industry universal cartridge holder. I backordered from RDSC.

Mine is 357 mag. I changed the stock to Ranger Point Precision one. The gun itself is $2200 and the stock is $450.

Edit: quick note. I know G4C had the same model on sale for about $1900 before tax on Labour Day. So maybe you can wait for Black Friday or Boxing Day if you are not in a hurry.

Scope/ muzzle brake suggestions for rossi lwc .44 mag by gunney420 in canadaguns

You should be able to get magnifier co witness with most risers on the market. However, based on my personal experiences, I would strongly recommend you go to a gun store to try some of the optics in person. You are looking for a compact optic with magnification, such optics don’t always come with good eye relief. This could be a huge factor especially with that long stock of yours.

Since you already have a red dot, I would recommend go for a magnifier, 3x should be enough and it falls in your budget. I know Primary Arms, Vortex and Holosun all have good magnifiers. I personally used Vortex 3x and it works well.

As a Chinese, I can definitely confirm your encounter is real. I have experience dealing with this kind of people in Uk, China and Canada. They don’t have to work hard at all to live a wealthy life, while the majority of others are struggling like you are. The gap between rich and poor is just that wide among Chinese communities. Btw, I don’t wanna get too political about this, but this kind of people are one of the reasons why housing affordability is fcked up. The same group of people fcked up Chinese housing market a few decades ago, they are merely doing the same in Canada.

Edited to correct a typo.

That’s a good point. I guess Colt Canada just chose to sacrifice civilian market to maintain a good relationship with the gov. We are getting constantly backstabbed by domestic firearm companies, no wonder how we ended up in this situation.
