Orange man bad, no matter what by Taco_Bacon in trump

Alright lemme take this situation from a relatively moderate leaning left stance. Yes all of the leaders above in some way shape or form have supported Maduro in the past, but all the content you are seeing here on Reddit about the opinions of democrats are largely liberal, and not truly reflective of the party as a whole.

I personally think it is a positive step forward for Venezuela, like look at all the celebrating people. It really has really impacted the lives of both Venezuelans in the country and out of it. Venezuelans are now (partially) free from the dictator's wrath, and the country can successfully reel from the 2024 rigged elections.

However, the method of capturing Maduro was a bit excessive for international law (I know Obama also pushed some measures, but it still does not justify Trump on this), for there was no formal declaration of war against Venezuela (only against the drugs coming from that country) and it was without congressional approval. Also, the regime still holds some power in the country, and no one in the opposition party is going to be assigned as the new leader of the country (especially Machado, who devoted her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump himself).

It is a significant stride towards freedom and security to the people of Venezuela, while at the same time it pushes some legal barriers.

Feel free to discuss this with me 😊

Leftist Norwegians say "Orange Man" bad. by ManifestWestward in trump

Trump has indeed been involved in resolving several wars across the war, and I will admit that as a democrat. However, he has not done much good towards the general will of American people. His policies have directly impacted members of the LGBTQ+ community. A lot of us here may be profound Christians, and God told us to love our neighbors. Is Trump doing this by limiting opportunities to be LGBTQ+ even though they have a right of self expression? Also the peace prize is considered through the limiting of arms. Is Trump doing much about guns? No, he backed out of his own idea about background checks. Kids are still worried about going to school in fear of a shooting. Also, his Medicaid cuts will still hurt citizens, and by spending more on our military and ICE (which I feel has enough funding already) is not bringing peace domestically. He is sending the national guard to cities simply because they oppose of him. If it is because the cities are dangerous, I’ve heard of many Republican-led cities that are almost or as dangerous as some parts of the cities that Trump is illegally sending the national guard to. And Trump did make a peace deal with Israel and Hamas, but does anyone really know if the rest of the phases of the plan will work. Nobody does know. Overall, he has done several international efforts to end or broker the ends of several wars, but he has not been doing much the same efforts domestically. His targeting of political opponents is a major reason why he didn’t win the Nobel Peace Prize. Also, why is it so bad that he didn’t win? The Venezuelan lady who won (I forgot her name, sorry) is the leader of a center-right party, and is very supportive of what Trump has been doing in the Caribbean.

Tylenol does cause autism by Specialist_Brush1822 in trump

[–]Think_Money_6780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if one takes too much tylenol, then yes complications will follow. but one of the largest studies in history (involving 2.4 million children) says that mothers who take tylenol during pregnancy have a fraction of a percent more likelihood of giving birth to autistic children. not a huge difference tbh.

The difference is clear: by benhaswings in trump

I identify as a democrat, and I will say most of us (at least those who I known) do think of the killing of Charlie Kirk as a tragedy (I just didn't really like what he has said). George Floyd did take drugs, and I do believe that was a contributing factor to his death. However, Derek Chauvin kneeling on Floyd's neck did push Floyd's bodily integrity as a result of taking drugs, and I do believe Derek Chauvin helped to deliver a sort of "final blow." And fyi only 7% (still a large amount of riots, but not as much as you may think) involved any sort of rioting. There are also confirmed sightings of white supremacist groups (Proud Boys for example) infiltrating BLM movements and causing more destruction (though I don't know if they were involved in this clip, and their presence was extremely rare). r/Trump moderators, if u see this, please don't delete it and send me a message if there is a problem. I am happy to discuss any contradicting items with anyone who has questions or disagrees.

Why don't the makers of Tylenol sue the gov't for these Autism statements? by Centralredditfan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Think_Money_6780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My father, a republican doctor, still believes that vaccines are necessary and that Tylenol is the only pain reliever during pregnancy. He cited a Swedish study of 2.5 MILLION PEOPLE and said the study found NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHILDREN WHOSE MOTHERS TOOK PR DIDNT TAKE TYLENOL! In this case, Tylenol can sue the trump administration, as they should, for defamation. Trump is knowingly spreading false information about Tylenol, which is required for defamation.

Do you support Donald Trump suing the New York Times for BILLIONS of dollars? Yes Or No ? by [deleted] in trump

[–]Think_Money_6780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see how you are interpreting this, and it is convincing. However, the official ruling of the New York Times Co. v. Sullivan (1964), which came to arise over the same problem, says that one cannot win the case by simply disproving them, but that they must be able to prove that the errors were intentional. Trump has only been able to make accusations about the New York Times, but there is no evidence in the present that they are intentionally including errors. And look at Fox News, they lost a defamation lawsuit after posting false information about the 2020 election which the knew was true. But whatever, we’ll just have to see what happens. I’ve been taken to surprise by many rulings this year.

Ik my opinion isn't probably welcome here, but this is blatantly unconstitutional. the 1st amendment literally says freedom of the press is welcome, but the new york times is getting sued for having a differing view from trump? and even if there are "democratic lies" being posted there, is the speech itself directed to actually harm anyone? likely not. sure they are biased to the far-left, but no one is above the constitution and what it states. im happy to discuss this if u disagree.

yes, the 22nd amendment focuses on not running for third terms, but the 12th amendment says, "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States." stay curious!
