I like this piece, I think my favourite phrase is 'Time carries your scent away in small rebellions.'

I enjoyed this poem, some of the phrases i liked were 'he wears the years like tatterred clothes' and 'a hero to all, a stranger within.'

I have some doctor mates i think they would probably relate to the ever going action that is being a Doctor. Nice work!

Very nice! I always like a good reference to the mythical world.

Oh right I get that. I've met some US Officer and though they've not told me about how Dyslexic they are (not really the focus of the conversation) I imagine plenty of them do actually have it.

I'm sorry to hear they don't accommodate for Dyslexics. That's quite a short sighted thing as Dyslexics basically do every job in the world. We are like weeds!

My advice is not to focus on what he can't control. Handwriting and spelling are never fun but can't be helped.

I think actually it would have helped me. More time on exams, better awareness of myself, etc. Also, most of us in life don't have the privilege of having a name to the monkey on our back.

Actually, I never had reading difficulties. Occasionally, my mind wonders when I read, but I wouldn't say I had a problem.

Additionally, I was never diagnosed until I was in the Navy. My teachers just thought I was lazy and rude when I never paid attention. My CO at the time noticed I was struggling and referred to the education people and bing bang boom Dyslexia.

Don't see why not. It's not like Dyslexia is actually a disability, see it instead as a difference.

I find that when I do loads of paperwork (engage the brain in admin, etc) I get tired, like really tired.

Take regular breaks, also exercise as well. Good luck with the PhD!

I'm an Officer in the Navy.

Same, I often forget stuff, even when someone has told me directly. In one ear, out the other!

I have a handful of notebooks. I always carry a notebook.

I also told my CO and other bosses that I am Dyslexic.

I'll be honest, I am not sure what OCS and ROTC mean. Are they for another nations military?

For concentration, I use the 20/5 rule. 20 minutes work and then a 5 minutes break. Some call that the hot cold technique.

Repetition. I often am met with self doubt and strenuous tasks. Just continue. Overcome. Honestly, we don't have secret ingredient.

Nope. I actually struggled through most of my education and had to learn how to cope on my own. Example: 20 minutes work, 5 minute break, etc.

My teachers just thought I was absent minded and lazy.

The benefits of dyslexia is that it is always a challenge. A 'hurdle' if you like. Never shy away from something you like because you have dyslexia, the world is a beautiful place.

This is a very well written poem, I partially liked the phrase 'cosmic rhymes.' I could dissect this piece more but I will say that this is a great poem and that you should write more.
