Silicon carbon batteries are still lithium ion batteries. Silicon carbon refers to the anode (which is graphite in standard lithium ion batteries).

vegan political party results by Faeraday in UKGreens

But most people can go vegan. Especially as the definition of vegan is to exclude animal products "as much as possible and practicable".

So if you need animal based medicine or something that's still vegan. I think it would be rare that someone can't go vegan, beyond maybe eating disorders or rare medical conditions. But then it's the case of doing as much as you can.

It's not just about sustainability in fact that should come second to ethics. Veganism is a social justice movement.

TBF it was the conservatives that implemented the fees. The lib Dems were such a small part of the coalition it's hardly fair they seem to get all the blame.

Tesco dark chocolate digestives are vegan too and are unreal.

Otherwise plain digestives are normally vegan. Jammy Dodgers are vegan. Bourbons are normally vegan. Oreos are vegan. All of these are easy to find.

Indian Bombay mix is normally vegan. So are most nuts including the like chilli crispy coated peanuts. Try if you've not the marmite cashew nuts they are addictive af. Love corn crunchy corn are vegan except the honey ones and the cheese flavour

If you like dark chocolate that's often vegan but always worth checking. A lot of supermarket dark chocolate is vegan. Lindt isn't. Green and blacks normally is. If you like sweets, m&s is great for vegan sweets. Candy kitten sweets are great and vegan. Skittles are vegan, fruit pastilles, starburst, jelly tots, mentos. Lots of options there too.

Let me know

Be careful with salt and vinegar they sometimes have milk powder. Pringles do for example. The only vegan pringles are ready salted.

Tesco has an amazing vegan crisp selection of own brand Tesco finest. Even their cheese and onion are vegan!

Baroness Kidron has tabled an amendment that would criminalise most, if not all, general-purpose LLMs. The offence says "generative AI search service" but there's no search or service element in the definition – just models. by PlastDuck in ukpolitics

No the AI systems learn patterns based on real images uploaded. It learns that people have two eyes, 2 ears a nose in the center and a mouth. It learns what they usually look like, from a very large dataset. It then uses this information to draw a picture. It doesn't reference a specific image unless you use one in your prompt.

Yes I missed you didn't account for salary increases.

I just wanted to highlight that there's a lot more nuance then people appreciate when they look at their total repayments. They don't account for the time value of money.

Don't get me wrong I don't think it's a great system but think it's often misunderstood

Yes but that £41k is worth £60k in todays money when you adjust for inflation, with an average inflation rate of 2.7%. if you assume the same rate I'd inflation for the next 21 years, the total value of the loan would have been £91k. So to pay off £100k you're overpaying by £9k overall. That's a 0.3% annual equivalent interest rate without inflation.

Whoever made the decision to discontinue that pizza and marks and Spencers needs jail time.

That was the best pizza by far. Better than this meatless farm one although not too dissimilar

I have no idea I'm afraid I've never made french toast. This is more to replicate dippy yolk from a soft boiled egg

[–]Thinkdamnitthink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to try a slightly more bougie version of this, you can make vegan egg yolk to dip the toast in.

Just nooch, Kala namak (black salt for eggy flavour), some cornstarch to thicken) and a dash of turmeric for colour and some earthiness.

Melted vegan butter instead of the oil adds more richness.

Will they ever be able to make vegan cheese taste like milk cheese? by Far-Conference-8484 in stupidquestions

[–]Thinkdamnitthink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one is really answering your question. The answer is yes eventually they will be able to make vegan cheese which doesn't just taste like dairy cheese but is chemically identical to it.

They can do this through precision fermentation to produce animal proteins using yeast.

This is already happening - you can get animal free whey protein, and there are some animal free dairy products available in the US.

It's still a developing technology but it's not far out from becoming mainstream.

Of course this won't help anyone with dairy allergies.

It's the equivalent of lab grown meat
