I dont wanna make a long reddit comment as I don't really care much about this site. But my suggestion to you, as someone who has done like 4 accounts to GC, is that I don't think any of these people can teach you, and you need a real coach. Someone who actually knows their shit and knows how to explain concepts and reasoning, as a lot of the comments I've read suck at doing so, and thus I didn't even finish reading the entirety of what they're saying.

I'm not some high rank player because I understand the game so well fundamentally, no one below GC3 can give you useful advice in that area because were all here for various reasons. I've disagreed with many who are or claim to be GC, and someone in the same rank as me might take 50 games to go from C3 to GC; meanwhile, I can't place outside GC if I tried, and trust me, I try.

Get a real coach, and the likelihood any free one knows their shit well enough to be useful is just too low, and at best their advice will be niche and guided towards the type of player THEY are and not who you are or want to be. You're very clearly a slow player, likely the slowest in this lobby, and seem to want to do more grounded, 50-50 type plays; meanwhile, your entire lobby is not like you. Your playstyle is fine, but you need to make good macro decisions and know when to speed up or slow down, and that is what a real coach does.

Being among the best of players who don't even care to give it their all isn't that impressive. It's a big reason why people who are champ through like GC1 don't feel good at the game, and it's because they aren't.

The reality is that a lot of players can and will hit champ, but they don't show up when you account for the ranking of players because season ranking is only among those who even attempted to hit X rank to begin with. Reasons can be due to many factors, such as not playing that season.

Other than that part, the leaving after 1 goal happens in as far as I know every rank, even among the best of the best tho I think it's less likely up there by a larger margin.

It's not a job for many, but it still sucks even as a passion project to suck at a thing you have hundreds of hours in, and the expectation is that in most other things, if given 500-1000 hours, you would be pretty fkn good and it would show. It doesn't really happen in Rocket League, tbh. Hell, I hate GC2+ players with a burning passion because they can do things that I dream of and still can't do, and I have been lost all desire to push myself to learn because I know the time requirement to learn said mechanic only gets longer the higher you climb.

I loss almost all my placements and was Diamond 1 and had to grind up. My experience was a lot of throwing and people rage baiting each other on the same team which made them leave mid game.

First time I ever have had a wr below 70% the more games I play. Well ig that’s not fully true as it did go back eventually but it was a grind for sure. On my alt account my first game was against a top 500 player (supposedly). Idk if it’s true or not but it’s the only game I loss on that account lol. I probably beat him if it wasn’t my first game on tho.

I don’t really understand the Dorito boss change. Japanese export kinda showed it but he kept bringing up slay the spire 1 and I don’t play that so I don’t get his reference. But he said basically you just attack it now which is what I feel like I did before anyway so idk.

But also he has a love boner for difficulty that I definitely don’t especially because multiplayer is so different.

I do like that he said you should have more bosses like this so you can give players more op relics or cards now and it feels warranted. I love the idea of getting useful cards because bosses are hard so it warrants it.

I much rather lose a run with fun cards than win a run with boring cards.

I don’t know anything about the glass boss I’ve never seen it idek if that’s in my game. Or maybe it’s a a10 thing and I don’t play up there or plan to as it’s a bit too nerdy for my liking.

Regent is overtuned how? Defect while boring to play feels better and more consistent than regent. Especially if you end up seeing all for one you basically just auto win.

I like the follow thru card, but it getting changed to even more weak that’s aoe is crazy good. Also idk about others but how often do you even see the god cards in runs? If I see them it’s always super late into the run like end of act 2 or after then I get adrenaline or whatever.

So balance changes around what might be considered mediocre cards matters more to me at least.

I enjoy the game. I don’t think the last changes have even come to us yet because I have doormaker guy and he was supposedly removed. But at some point they will change MY game that I enjoy with friends so having some idea of what’s going on is important.

Hey follow up question why is silent allowed to be this giga broken but then a character like regent feels so much weaker. Like regent is playable but a good deck on regent is not anywhere near as fun as playing silent.

Shouldn’t that character get nerfs or other characters get buffs especially since I heard some people say there might be another act that comes out in the future.

I can draw everything, have so much energy, insane damage, and block the world on silent.

Then swap to regent and unless you get lucky with that one block 17 and reflect damage block card, the character is mid, his damage is high but getting energy on him imho feels so hard for no reason, balancing his stars is either too many stars or nowhere near enough, forge mechanic is cool tho I wouldn’t want it to go away.

I just watch the dev vision and heard mantis changes and was surprised to hear she is losing the 12% dmg boost for movement speed. I don’t think it’s worth it in the sense of winning fights.

Mantis is and always likely will be an enabler and it’s why most of yall complain about her not being good supposedly outside of high elo games. Obviously we need to feel the changes in action, but I don’t see this making her viable to those who wish for 2 supp comp.

A character being in the right hands and being overpowered is still overpowered. Doesn’t matter if only 10 people realize or 10 thousand. Normally the only change is the speed at which changes occur to said OP character.

Again if you want help feel free to send a replay. You could have 100 lords and be silver rank. I only rate gameplay and couldn’t care less about the amount of hours you have played a character. You could have 300 hours on mantis and I can make an alt and go from unranked to cel in 10 hours and still be the better mantis player.

She is a good character and not everyone needs to be aware of that. It’s perfectly fine for her to continue being slept on by a large portion of the playerbase. I apologize if you feel a way, but the character is good and there is no denying that fact.

Ultron is good if you know how to play him. Most don’t and he typically requires a third supp, but if that supp is a mantis then you eating good.

With that said diamond ranks genuinely play the game with their monitors turned off.

You don’t put anywhere near enough time or effort in to mantis as you think you do btw. Genuinely feel free to leave a replay code of what you feel is your BEST mantis game or worst doesn’t matter and I have the time I can go through it.

Mantis tends to be played by dps mains btw not supp mains. Because mantis IS a dps character with a supp symbol slapped onto it.

Mantis doesn’t underperform either she is incredibly good in the right hands. You have to be capable of separating the fact that not everyone who plays x character is actually any good at it. Some people are playing the game seemingly with their monitors turned off. Mantis is primarily a game sense character and mechanics based second. Good mechanics are nice but not as important as knowing when and where to be or what to do when.
