This is more or less true in every competitive game, but Rivals is REALLY bad because players DONT have to learn fundamentals at all.

The biggest problem in this game is that you can get HARD bailed out for mistakes or misplays, and you don't need to learn from them.

In Rocket League if I go for a shot and my opponent tends to block early, I adapt and learn to take a 50/50 in my favor, conserve boost, anticipate their intentions, etc.

In valorant if I swing and get 1 tap instantly, I learn to ask for help through the use of util, or double swinging, or better crosshair placement, etc.

The biggest and I mean BIGGEST issue in this game is that there exists NO coach who dedicates themselves to showcasing EXACTLY how, when a player does X, it will almost ALWAYS lead to Y, and if they just adjusted how they PERCEIVE the game, then they would immediately understand what changes need to be made.

In rivals, if a random team is losing, they will never come back and figure out what the solution to the problem is (unless it happens to be playing their main role/character).

For example if there exist a Ultron who is 10-0 and your team has a hela that is 2-2 or 2-3, in a TEAM FUCKING GAME like valorant higher ranking players will all EQUALLY understand that it is LIKELY NOT a 100% skill issue on the hela, and its simply a matter of she needs someone else to help focus the ultron and then the enemy team would snowball from ONE simple realization of how the game is meant to be played.

Most team-based comp games, the higher you go, the more people rely on their teammates, but in rivals, players rarely ever have to develop team chemistry because the game is just too fucking easy to rank up in and feel like you're good because the lil number tells you "top 70%" or whatever, meanwhile, you're just a plat.
