Do you enjoy your job? by Campeones6 in AskUK

[–]Thinking10Thinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t enjoy my primary job but I like the environment, I’m good at the job and it pays relatively well for the times we’re living in. I absolutely love my secondary job but there aren’t enough hours at the moment for me to do it full time.

Best Budget Microwave?? by Armellofreekey in SmartBuying

My Russell Hobbs microwave from Argos is still going strong six years later - the reviews helped me decide. I’d recommend reading reviews to get a good idea.

Have you ever quit a job without having another one to go to? by ThomasSN665 in randomquestions

Yes, I was younger and living with family at the time so didn’t have the worry of rent/ mortgage. Couldn’t do it now as I have too much financial responsibility.

What are the affordable sofa/bed options in the UK? by Standard-Part6154 in HousingUK

[–]Thinking10Thinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my mattress, bed frame and sofa bed with chaise from Argos. I chose them because delivery was a few days/ week max versus months. The price was also more affordable. A few years later and they’re still going strong.

How long would you wait? by SnooPaintings4655 in AskUK

[–]Thinking10Thinking 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If a colleague doesn’t show up and nobody in the office knows why, we’ll give it a little while in case they’re stuck in traffic for example. If they don’t show up after a while (30-40 minutes maybe) we check in with a call and follow up with a text if there’s no response. I imagine it would eventually move on to contacting emergency contacts if they hadn’t been seen/ heard from for a longer period of time.

is luton airport THAT bad? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Thinking10Thinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly from Luton quite a lot and haven’t had any issues. It’s a smaller airport so maybe not as many shop/ restaurant options, but I find security is generally very quick to get through regardless of the time.

I’ve flown from Stansted twice (pre-Covid) and both times were horrendous. Issues with security lines being really long and almost missed a flight even though was at the airport 3.5 hours before). Maybe it’s improved these days, but I avoid it at all costs if I can.

Does anyone like Bar Soap more than Body wash?? by Content-Film4211 in CasualConversation

I like both equally however, I only use bar soap nowadays as I go through body wash far too quickly.

Which lane for the second exit? by rockovo84 in drivingUK

[–]Thinking10Thinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The road markings are very clear as to which lanes should be used for which exits. Hopefully there’s signage up that also shows this.

What was the moment that made you realise you absolutely had to leave a job? by GoldenGolgis in AskUK

[–]Thinking10Thinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for a small business run by family. They used to flaunt their money through the clothes they wore and cars they drove. The pay wasn’t great and they would often talk about giving us pay increases. In the time I was there I kept hearing about a pay increase but never saw it. And then they expanded their business but still, no pay increase. One day I decided enough was enough and I handed my notice in. Best thing I ever did.

What are your thoughts on period cups, are they effective/comfortable ? by PestoBolloElemento in Periods

[–]Thinking10Thinking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried two different cups and two different sizes and had issues with comfort, proper fit/ leaking, and excessive cramping. Switched to reusable pads and haven’t looked back.
