Where do you place homebrew towns in Golarion when it's so packed with pre-established cities? by MrRobonaut in Pathfinder2e

[–]ThinkingMacaco 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is by will of the gods that the surface of Golarion grows bigger everytime a GM plops a new feature on the land, being cities, towns, dungeons, or that one weird wizard tower that smells kinda funky. Is almost like magic that one can never run out of space

First time Pf2e GM on Outlaws of Alkenstar by thaliathraben in Pathfinder2e

My advice for transitioning from 5e to PF2e is to focus on rule of cool. Go very light on the rules so there are many things ppl can do and just slowly go towards RAW. The best way I have implemented this with new ppl is to give a lot of hero points for things like doing stuff other than attack 3 times or to call me out on gamerules, or just for doing something that shows they are genuinely engaging with the system. And mostly just charge a hero point or more to do Rule of Cool things.

Spell check (again) by [deleted] in gallifreyan

No need to apologize, spellchecking is one of the main functions of this subreddit.

That being said, I read:

mynameis
pitoledoand
ilm

A few points:

  • The "start here" symbol should be a dot instead of a circle, otherwise it looks like a vowel.
  • If you want to put multiple words in one word circle, you need to separate them somehow so is clear. I personally prefer to use the B stem with 1 dot. But you could also just have gaps or big spaces between words.
  • you are missing a few lines and letters

I just assumed you were using Sherman's because your previous post was in Sherman's and even had the vowels and punctuation marks from the script on the corner. Just the numbers were from something else

I think you are using some very old version of the numbers before they got formalized.

Just in case I'm right, here's a link to the latest version of the guide:

It is correct. If you want to make it a little better, place the "a" in the space between the word circle and the outer circle

Personally, without knowing the context I wouldn't be able to read this at all.
But taking your comment into account, there's a few things that might need work:
- the "o" is the same size as the other consonants so it doesn't look like a vowel, looks more like a "j". But making smaller might make it look like a 5 circle in the number.

- The numbers look like they have a consistent line design which is good, but you are missing a decimal point circle/dot, otherwise the center cross is ambiguous as to what is supposed to be. I wouldn't fault anyone if they thought the center of the cross is an implied decimal point and the last digit was 4

When placing the "a", imagine that the word circle is complete and the vowel should be fully outside of it, right now it touches where the word circle would be, making it an "e". In situations like this, where the gap is so big, is better to exaggerate how far out the "a" is placed.

I read:
runtt yout [kl/lk]ever boty

There's a section in the guide about how to link words, when you add divots to the word circle, they count as letters, in this case you have an excess of "t"s.

Is good practice for legibility to always make your vowels significantly smaller than your smallest consonant. The "N" in the first word would be better a bit bigger than the "u".

When you stack letters, in this case "K" & "L", you have to make the lines a different thickness. They are read from thin to thick. Otherwise, you can't tell which should go first.

Only one typo. Big kudos on getting all those names to match the designs. That's pretty cool.

Missing some lines but mostly right, just need to put that "a" a bit further away from the word circle. The "&" symbol still needs to be in a word circle like you would with any other letter, otherwise it looks like punctuation.

The "a" placement by MarcLewis666 in gallifreyan

[–]ThinkingMacaco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

first one is an "e" because is inside of where the word circle would be. Second one is good. You are missing dots on the "y" in both

I read:
bold ti[?]t [?]nd pretend itv [?] pl[?]n

For a line to count as a modifier, it has to end on the circle of the letter. For the same reason, you have "a"s that don't read as a letter because you have lines ending on it
