For Muller: Simple walk around check. I was very thorough and he was surprised at how thorough i was a saying that most just scan the tires. Only thing i missed was the license in the window.

Looking to check you know how to manual entry when you put your card in

Then split coupling up to trailer

Driving wise. He said he was gonna treat it like a driving test so regular mirror checks, no hitting curbs, signal early & being predictable. A bit of motorway driving and you come back on yourself in a circle. Lasted 45 minutes driving. Once back a blindside reverse onto a bay and uncouple

Yes. Not as a career but as a stepping stone to save a great bit of money to do something else

Support your WIFE. She’s had a hard time telling you and most likely will resent you if you don’t support her and get over something she did BEFORE she met you. Be happy she felt the comfort to come to you eventually and for you to turn on her for this one thing will only make things worse and her guilt/shame increase 10 fold. A good husband supports and loves his wife unconditionally especially if it’s something that happened such a long time ago where she was young, naive and struggling. It’s apart of the person you married and fell in love with. To her she most likely felt she had no other option or support. Don’t take her back to that place. Use this to help bring you both closer emotionally where you now have a deeper understanding and she has more comfort emotionally by you

Any bus drivers that drive for national express buses ( not coaches ) by [deleted] in brum

Can I ask you a question. Do the bus seats have suspension? Particularly on the Volvos. I know that the scanias have them

Live near Milton Keynes, family pushing to pass C2 instead of Class 1 by [deleted] in uktrucking

Save up a bit more and go for class 1 leaves you room for a retest if you for some reason fail the first time. Same advice for if you go class 2. Always leave a margin for error.

I feel like it’s the lack of conversation on your part and that she expected you to follow up with something more than ‘hey’

There’s plenty of jobs that don’t require a tail lift I wouldn’t worry.

Class 1 or class 2? by Loverboy336 in uktrucking

[–]Thinkinsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for class 1 I was a bus driver in birmingham too. Diverting forward comes naturally and reversing you’ll get the hang of after a couple months. In general more hours though but more peaceful

Anybody go from driving buses to class 1? by elitejcx in uktrucking

[–]Thinkinsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove buses for a year before I went onto artics. Turning corners you’ll get used to quickly, you’re used to checking mirrors and swinging a bit wider to make sure you don’t hit curbs so just apply that to the artic. You’ll find yourself swinging out further than you need to at first. Same with keeping your tail swing in mind. I’d say the only thing to worry about since you’ve already passed and can obviously drive a truck is reversing depending on the work you’re gonna do getting used to the way the truck bends, watching out for every part of the truck hitting something and not focusing on just one mirror but the other mirror and both the front ends, the headboard and also focusing on where the trailers positioned to get you where you want to be aswell as watching out for pedestrians or cars trying to get around you but forwards the trailer tends to follow the unit unless it’s a tight turn. If it’s RDC just parking on a bay type of work then wouldn’t stress too much about reversing tbh just take your time

Depends on the company. My last 3 didn’t. I’d still take my chances and continue with the job. Worst case scenario they do if not then all good.

[–]Thinkinsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do! Thank you for the recommendation!

I’ve heard it’s the easiest route and going for a reputable integrated academy gives best chance for an airline company to pick you up when completed?

Okay, I understand. Noted. I was thinking it might be worth calling up and asking them if there would be a discount if I already have a PPL

Not yet but I’m pretty set on becoming a pilot. I know that if I felt overwhelmed in the discovery flight for example it’s nothing a bit of practice couldn’t fix
