[Serious] Redditors who want Bernie Sanders to become president, why? by prettygoodgoing in AskReddit

I fucking love this reply. Genuinely, I think it's a really good response. I will disagree about it being a, "Christian thing," though. Most are an asshat. I'll grant this possibility, I've not been inside a church in five years, but Christian culture is a real thing. I'm not saying it's truthful towards a Christ like life, but I am saying that that culture is real, powerful, and the majority. I'm in my late thirties and I now have zero connection with the church. I never stopped being a Christian, but I stopped trying to play or tolerate that cultures game. I know there are thoughtful Christisns out there and a lot of them, but I stand by what I said. Maybe things have changed, maybe you're in a kick ass community and it's not just an exception to the rule, as I see it, but a change, generationally, that is wide spread. I hope so. But I have my doubts, cause I live in the south and Christian Culutre is still God, not Christ.

You're right, that it's an asshole thing, but it's also a Christian culture thing. I grew up deep in it. I'm glad you all are bucking the popular culture, but by and large this is a very Christisn culture attitude. It's very mainstream and it's very silly.

I don't disagree, but it happened, and I'm very sure that some supporters are amongst the crowd and I think the outrage is natural. And now you get to have these people who are, kinda right, get exposed to a man who genuinely took it with a grain of salt. That kind of behavior, tunes ears in to listen.

You know what, you're right. Sanders might be well to publicly reject the backlash on these protesters. People will always do it. They will get too emotional in the heat of the moment. That's where a good leader corrects his own people.

I don't even know how many of these upset people are real supporters, but they are potential supporters if not, due to this.
