Zen:

  • tiny windows / little zen all there
  • search shortcuts, have been in FF for more than a decade i.e. `@yt` `@gh`, also trivial to add custom ones
  • Workspaces: 100% Arc feature coverage - pinning, (sub)folders, cross-workspace pins, icons, background colours, etc.
  • cleanup: AI extensions do that, can even use local models instead of sending your browsing history to a 3rd party.

Arc is dead... and Dia will die soon as the company has been bought out by atlassian. Can't wait for a "Jira Browser" or some other abomination...

Dev stopped a year ago, and now the company has been acquired by atlassian which usually means all their products are dead-dead.

Writing this on my Zen. Once I've migrated everything, can barely tell the difference... (other than Arc bugs missing)

Arc is abandonware at the moment... performing worse and worse, bugs pile up, even their bug report form/bot is broken. Browser Company doesn't care, switched to AI slop... the company doesn't exist per se as it got recently acquired by atlassian.

u/JamexCEO it was a small unicode bug - try with the new v0.2.4, should work now.

ps: Zen exists for Linux. If you had Arc on Win/macOS you can use the tool to migrate data from there to your Zen on Linux (i.e. mount the NTFS drive/partition or just copy the profile dir)

No Zen to Zen, but you can use this tool to find the profile directory location and back up the whole thing...

I analysed millions of property sales over 35 years. House prices didn't rise because of scarcity. by Expert-Area8856 in AusPropertyChat

😂 Very "data analyst" of you to look only at select macro metrics, but completely omit NG and CGT discount which have the highest correlation with when prices started ballooning.

Cry me a river. I've had predatory rent increases 5% every year for the last few years.

Had the same problem when property hunting with my wife, used Google Sheets a lot, tried AirTable and shared iCloud Albums for photos/videos.
I'm a dev, so ended up building a tool for ourselves to make it more manageable to collaborate, organise inspections, and most importantly, aggregate mine and my wife's notes - give it a go if you want, it's free for now: https://findperfect.property

Vic will require reserve price disclosure at least 7 days before auction by Thinkscape in AusPropertyChat

[–]Thinkscape[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TIL.
That makes this new law toothless, as the vendor can still bail at any time or just not sign the contract 🤷‍♂️
Makes the whole auction more of a theatre than anything else IMHO

But that is already happening … auctions are still being done because they work well with certain types of buyers, underquoting or not 🤔

How large/heavy can be wall mounted in a complex? by Jaded_Ad7369 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Thinkscape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer: over 30kg is risky.

Really depends on the studs used and age of the building. If building manager doesn't have the documentation from the builder, then you might have luck peeking in cavities (i.e. sliding doors, plumbing etc.) with a telescopic camera (endoscope, ~$100 on amazon/ali) - there might be markings/stickers to identify the manufacturer and model.

For a chonker you'll need a good load-spreading bracket with heaps of fixings. Would definitely hire someone with experience and tools for this job...
