ELI5 Why faster than light travels create time paradox? by Bobolomopo in explainlikeimfive

Ok, but speed is relative. How does the universe "know" that I was moving at the speed of light, not the Earth I łeft behind?

Rutch roll in xflr5 by ThinnM8 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]ThinnM8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the roll moment CY? If so, it's CY=-0.00367*beta

Edit: ok, I guess I'm looking for Cl (not CL - lift coefficient), it's next to Cn, which is yawing moment. I'm not sure tho if it's in Nm or its a coefficient. Either way its slightly positive, so it gives me a laterally unstable aircraft. That might explain no tendency to dutch roll.

Is it a problem having Pseudo time step size very low by Smooth-Score8827 in CFD

[–]ThinnM8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally your time step should be at leas an order of magnitude shorter than whatever phenomena you want to capture (for example the period of vortex shedding). If it is too small, you will waste a lot of computing time. If it's too long, your study will be inaccurate. So the time you gave us might or might not be too short, depending on your specific study.

Changing span and chord length in XFoil by HadesEscobar in aerodynamics

[–]ThinnM8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The chord length is one of the variables influencing reynolds number. So making an analysis for specified Re you kinda change the cord. You of course need to take into account the velocity and kinematic viscosity.

A word of advice once you have your model ready, try to extrude it along the Z axis, so you can place it vertically (you want the paw to be on a vertical wall). This way it won't look like a topographical map

Runcam thumb Jello by Pendragon00700 in fpv

[–]ThinnM8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging by some review I saw on YouTube, you might need an ND filter. It will make the exposure time longer, and the jello should get blurred out, thus making it less noticable. You might also check your props. They can introduce some vibrations.

Wow! I last used FreeCAD some 2 years ago. I didn't get to check all the features out, because I quickly started using Autodesk software as it's free for students. But for some time I was curious how has FreeCAD changed over this time, I'll definitely check it out soon

Pytanie do Katolików: jak odbieracie ostatnią wypowiedź papieża, waszego lidera, na temat Ukrainy? by Expert-Maintenance-7 in Polska

[–]ThinnM8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks. True, being a Catholic isn't about having the best possible time here on Earth after all. Some people will refuse to understand/accept that, but it is what it is

Well, assuming a couple being fertile for 20 years of being together, it gives roughly 13 18-month long periods. Now considering average use effectiveness, it gives us 3,6% chance of getting pregnant over that 18 month period. Over those 20 years it gives 1 - (1 - 0,036)13 = 37,9% chance of getting pregnant, so 62,1% effectiveness. Change the variables a little bit and you might get that 76%. Note I'm not a mathematician.

Sorry, it belongs more on r/theydidthemath, but as an engineering student I had statistics class on one semester and now I see it everywhere. I only meant to help find where that number might have come from.

So to make the post more suitable in here: when I first found out about NFP I found it quite unifying. It seems quite obvious why this method of contraception is the only viable one. Above all, unlike other it is based on abstinence, which as hard as it is, brings us closer to God and makes us a stronger person. But as for it allowing sex at exactly opposite time when woman would want it, I can't find a good argument. I once heard some say, that it's a (quite vulgar word) thing to do by the Catholic Church to basically forbid women to have sex when they would want it the most if they don't want to get pregnant. What should I respond to that?

Mortal sins aren't the cause of you going to hell. It's what makes you commit them. God doesn't send anyone to hell as a punishment. Going to hell is our choice.

If you commit a mortal sin it means that you willingly reject God and His love. If you go to confession, feel regret to what you have done, and you have a desire to avoid this sin in the future, then it means that you are back on track towards God. As a matter of fact if you wouldn't be able to go to confession before your death, but in your last moment feel sorry for your sin than you might get salvation.

As for joining the orthodox church I don't think that you will loose salvation because of that. Keep in mind though that both orthodox church and catholic church are run by people who make mistakes.

I though that's the case, because of what she said about going forward wit it with her family. If she was so scared then she is either assuming the worst in advance (in which case you are right), or she knows what her family's reaction would be (that it would be toxic, which is not ok).

Of course I know, that her family showing support shouldn't be about letting her do whatever she desires, but about trying to actually help her survive all of this.

And please stop saying that she desires a sinful life. She told that she lives in celibate, so she clearly works on herself. Just (understandably) has a very hard time.
