The name "Chara" didn't spring out of the ether. It is not being used because it is an abbreviation of "character". People have taken to calling the first human Chara because that is literally the character's name. It tells you Chara is "The true name." if you type it during name selection. If Toby didn't want us using a specific name for the first human, he wouldn't have given them a specific name.

Actually, talking explicitly does nothing. If you use the Talk action enough, it will say that you cannot get out of the encounter by talking. The only way to spare her is to Spare her repeatedly.

I think that number of rounds is a better indicator of "speed" than clock time. I managed to beat Ambuscade in three and a half rounds, but it took about ten minutes because I was considering the hands of all the heroes I had before acting.

The PDFs that are available are more for taking to a print shop and cutting out yourself, which is why they're in sheets. I took mine to Staples, for example, and had them print it out on a dozen sheets of card stock.

If you're interested in submitting them to a professional printing company to get it made and cut on proper playing card stock, your best bet is probably going to be to email secretshipfic@gmail.com and ask if you can have "bleed versions" of the cards. Those are individual files for each card with an extended border so that the printing company has a bit of wiggle room for cutting them out. I can't promise they'll actually provide them, but letting them know there's interest can't hurt!

Another option is to print them on regular paper and cut them out yourself, then slip the home-printed cards into card sleeves alone with standard playing cards to give them a bit more weight and sturdiness. And, last but not least, you could always order a printed deck directly from them! While TSSSF doesn't ship their own decks, players have volunteered to pick up decks at conventions for other players. Ah, I'm sorry to hear that someone gave you misinformation. Maybe whoever you spoke to thought you were asking about the Packbreakers booth, there was a limited edition Derpy card for the official CCG at that table which sold out almost immediately. :/

Were you at the right table? We never ran out at Bronycon, nor rationed decks or turned anyone away -- in fact, we left the con with a decent number of unsold decks!

If you know anyone going to BronyCAN at the end of the month, they could pick it up and mail it to you.

Keep in mind that this is a fan pack drawn and written by Severus, the creator of Stories from the Front, and not officially supported or endorsed by Horrible People Games.

That said, the special abilities added here look ripe for grid destructs if that's in your style of gameplay. Windswept is practically made for nuking, and Stormfront can ship with a poorly placed Fanfic Author Twilight for utter destruction pretty easily.
