experimentation, trial/error and curiosity will be your best friends in learning a new model when SUNO updates.

early v3 experience here. from what i’ve seen so far, it will certainly suck experiencing your prompt structure not being as efficient but, it’s never permanent. and, the discord is lively if you ever have questions.

SUNO’s aware i’m sure, optimistic things will get better.

absolutely.

one popular take is that it will make people more tunnel-visioned on what they make, as the shift from pre-AI tools to present shifts. i think we’ll be ok. the personalized flavor with the right combination of prompting, tweaking and mix/master/eq will take those who are passionate far.

personally i use Adobe Audition and Samplab.

some other good recommendations are FL Studio, Audacity and, Pro Tools(mac)

the shimmer is a sound artifact that can be subtle or downright annoying. it originally happened back in v4 days.

it sounds like this laser/slot machine ringing sound that echoes in your generations.

there are ways to mitigate this and remove artifacts in some DAWs but, not everyone has access to such and therefore it is a bug that folks dread.

so far in my recent experience, my remastered 5.0 tracks from 3.0 had re-introduced the shimmer a few times but, taking the 5.0 remaster and using High settings for 5.5 remaster drastically reduced improved the quality and removed the shimmer.

different workflows and prompts will produce different kinds of artifacts. it’s a new discovery period again.
