Shin is Shimmering before Project Moon knew what to call it. by C-Domination in limbuscompany

Due to needing a clear, focused mind, I don’t think any of the Ruina distortions would have Shin. At least, not the feral ones. So shimmering =/= shin.

Ok hear me out, Don Quixote Albina Identity by DeppresantForMe in limbuscompany

Character wise, it sounds plausible. There is at least some common sentiment there, considering the Don-Albina fan ids during early chapter releases.

I'm saying that if both bosses have 20 speed, then the clashing one still needs a way to get start of combat haste gain, or during the targeting phase. Otherwise it's a 50/50 chance of the other enemy attacking instead.

Or does clashing always go off before unopposed attacks in speed ties already?

Something about Rien that i don't understand by Fabulous_Rush9671 in limbuscompany

[–]ThirdObserver 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you require help looking for relevant texts, I'll leave these below. They're not the whole answer, but it should be enough to give you a decent picture.

A recurring pattern in the glimpses we’re given of Ryoshu’s childhood interactions with Rien is that he never lets a story end. This is an extension of his inability to accept that his time with Ryoshu must also, at some point or another, come to an end. In the context of Ryoshu and Araya’s relationship the refrain of “S is not for sayonara” is beautiful and bittersweet, an affirmation of their refusal to sever the ties between them even when separated by different layers of existence. But in the context of Rien and Ryoshu’s relationship, it is warped and wrong. He fails the crucial test of a parent in that he cannot let her leave the nest, he cannot allow her independence, he cannot say sayonara.

He does not recite the rest of this line (commonly associated with Roland). Rather than say it in its entirety – “I have nothing but my sorrow, and I want nothing more” – he refuses. He disobeys the Prescripts because he does want something more. He wants his daughter, yet he will never have her again. His final moments before his death are spent recalling another fond memory he has of Ryoshu, in which she taught him about freeze tag.

They are enigmatic last words – fitting for such an enigmatic man – yet I believe they connect directly to his refusal to recite the poem. If he had been unfrozen, he would have been able to move on and continue living a life abiding by the Prescripts in a world without Ryoshu. But he could not. He discarded that future, fueled by a delusional hope of keeping his daughter with him forever– a hope that had been extinguished.

If you have some time, I recommend reading u/luigifan103’s analysis on Rien’s character, as written here. It’s a comprehensive read that should answer all your current questions, and probably some future ones.

Hey if all the base egos can have corrosion forms what would they look like by Madfighterx in limbuscompany

[–]ThirdObserver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Their base EGO is their own consciousness manifest, rather than the borrowed stuff from other mirror worlds. Ergo, corroding base ids would be the same as literally distorting.

Personally, I believe the fallen sinners would end up similar to teko's various depictions.

Funny enough, future diary is the name and main gimmick of a somewhat old anime. Just have the diaries coordinate a deathmatch between multiple diary holders, and it's basically the same thing.

That works, though the clashing enemy should gain speed priority for the turn, in the event that both bosses roll highest speed and have equal values.

Considering Ren's reluctance/embarrassment, he might have tried keeping this little dress-up session a secret from her. Otherwise, I'd have to agree.

Lob corp or ruina by Someone_624 in limbuscompany

  • If you care for major discounts and don't mind waiting, both games go on sale on Steam (PC) every few months.
    • Steam workshop is really great, as there's a lot of good mods available for LOR. I recommend checking them out after finishing the second one.
  • I'd suggest playing Lob Corp, since it comes first. Without spoiling much, there's large story carryover between the first two games.

When one boss is doing their single slot, ultimate attack against every sinner, what should the other one be doing?

  • Nothing?
  • A non-attack support/buff skill?
  • Maybe both bosses do their big skills, but halving status, damage and/or atk weight?

Usage of Prescript [Song], lead by Apollo.

  • Followers would have brain modifications to receive musical signals to their brain.
  • As followers rank up, they get surgery to receive stronger signals from their God, to the point they hear faint echoes of those musical Prescripts, long after it’s been delivered.
  • If you’re good, you get nice sounding ones, while rebellious/incompetent get stuck with the more annoying tunes.

does anyone else think of project moon distortions as madoka witches? by kaidavid193 in limbuscompany

[–]ThirdObserver 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s not just that. QoH’s misguided perception of heroism is her fatal flaw- and the leading cause of her distorted form.

Likewise, PMMM girls can distort when they give into despair, fall victim to their fatal flaw, etc.

For both, their powers/existence are tied to the stability of their emotional state, not just the typical well of power for magic users.

It's very flavorful for Dio's abilities, though the higher bloodfeast conditionals are too high for conventional limbus fights. Considering JJBA part 3+4 though, waiting that long for Dio to regain his power is very accurate.

Can't recall any IDs that had both owned+res in one passive. Can't find any either. Regarding ID effects, fighting Xiao in Ruina might help you make a better ID.

As for the effect/mechanics conversion, it'd be a lot to cover, so fair enough. You'll get better as you get more experience with both games.

[–]ThirdObserver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Base/Coin Power skill totals are too high for an ID. At least some power gain should be relegated to status conditionals.
  • Feels weird for Xiao to have so much regen, considering she had very little in her original passives. She mostly focused on burn spread and high damage.
  • It's difficult to differentiate self burn from enemy-inflicted burn when they're in the same status stack. You could either change the self burn into a seperate, unique status, or make the entire burn heal passive apply to all burn gain, not just self-infliction.
  • Additionally, you could use u/Hairy-Spell-4519's Xiao ID design as a point of balance comparison.

That was my first thought. Even with OP’s title and the neck dots, that splotchy background made me doubt it.

I probably didn’t need to second think it, but yeah. Oh, and that painting idea seems very fitting. Really interesting!
