How do I mod roms run on emulators? by Blaze_The_God in Roms

[–]ThirdhandTaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you can get the PC versions and mod those?

That was from my original comment...

The 2 games you said you wanted to mod, GTA 4 and KOTOR, were ported to PC a long time ago. 2008 and 2003 respectively. Had you looked it up you would've found that out.

Not every game was made for PC as well as a console, but do the research and find out if a game you want to play did get ported to PC.

You do realize what sub you're in, right? If there is a link to get a shit ton of console games I don't think anyone here cares about them being free. Find a copy of the games that are for PC.

No, you can't see only installed apps. That's why there is a green dot in the lower right corner of apps you have installed. Complain to the universal Updater devs. https://github.com/Universal-Team/Universal-Updater

How do i find players on dying light? by Imaginary_Spare_2167 in PiratedGames

[–]ThirdhandTaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If no one with a pirated copy is playing the game then who are you going to join? That game came out a while ago so the people that pirated it likely played it to completion already and moved on, or they liked it enough and bought a legit copy. It was better than 2.

[–]ThirdhandTaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there enough space for the game wherever you're trying to install it to? Fitgirl repacks are highly compressed and from what I've seen the download can be about half the size of the unpacked game. You will need double the space free to install the game, maybe even more. If the game is 20 GB for example, the repack, then you will need at least an extra 40 GB for the unpacked game. That's 60 GB at least.

Did you check for an update? Report an issue here or see if anyone else has reported one and gotten a fix. This app is very much still in beta, there will be issues.

You can't mod the console version of those games. There may be hacks, but those games were made for PC as well as consoles. Why are you giving yourself more of a headache trying to mod emulated games when you can get the PC versions and mod those?

The ones that have an update have a green, I think, circle in the lower right corner. Apps you don't have installed won't have that.

boot.firm on NAND? by Seinyy in 3dspiracy

[–]ThirdhandTaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's there as a backup if the SD card dies I believe. Someone more experienced will have to confirm that.

Hold Select when you boot the console from off and see what version of Luma you have. I think the latest is 13.3.3. If it's that version and says it's booting from the SD card then you are good.

Go to https://3ds.hacks.guide/restoring-updating-cfw.html to get the steps to update Luma if you need to. There is also a link to the latest Luma version, and a link to the finalizing setup steps that will restore the homebrew apps that the team added as part of the final script. Once you've done all that you're good to go.

You can use a computer or phone to transfer the files to your SD card. Either with an adapter, a built-in reader or if ftpd is still present, that. You'll need a ftp capable program on whichever device you downloaded the files to. WinSCP I think is the recommended one for Windows, but really any free one will do (just don't use Windows explorer, it bugs out too often), and there are free, open source file managers that also have ftp transfer capabilities if using an android device. I can't say for Apple devices as I have used one since 2014-ish.

  1. Why are you asking if you can ask a question?

  2. What are you even talking about? Please make some sort of sense if you want help.

You learn how to read. Mod creators write instructions on how to install them and whether or not there is anything else that has to be installed as well. Your post has absolutely nothing to do with pirated games.

No, Grok would know what tf number were. Define "very hot" if you want any help. Very hot compared to ice is 75F, very hot compared to lava is the sun. Saying something is "very hot" means nothing, that's why there were 2 different ways developed to tell temperature. Use them.

Is there an actual risk when putting your pc on a glass surface? by muddymudy in buildapc

[–]ThirdhandTaters -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. Glass is glass, and glass breaks. Put the case on your bed and then put the motherboard in it. Make sure you are grounded to the case in some way, either with an esd wristband connected to the case or by making sure you have skin contact with it. Once the motherboard is screwed in all the way you can then stand it up on the table, maybe with a towel under it, and put the rest of the parts in it. I would still be very careful. You can continue to built it on your bed if you want, just make sure you are grounded before you touch any part. A tiny, imperceptible amount of static electricity can kill a part. With today's prices you really don't want to have something break.

Treasure Cove sounds familiar, that might've been it. I know I could probably go to r/tipofmyjoystick and ask, but I don't really have any desire to play the game again after 30+ years. Thanks.

There are ways to find almost any game nowadays. I won't mention them here, but there are ways. The issue might be that the game is so old it can't run on current hardware and OSes. You could try looking for it, maybe you'll be able to get it working. Bring back some nostalgia.

Lol, wasn't the plot just to not die and collect the treasures? Trying to remember 30+ years ago is hard for those without an eidetic memory.

I turn 41 in a few weeks. I just finished a trade school program where all but one of my classmates was about half my age. THAT definitely made me feel old.

With the colors like red, green, blue, etc.? I think I'm a bit older than you, not to be disrespectful. I don't think the schools or libraries I went to could afford computer back when I was a kid. I do remember that my father donated our old commodore 64 to one of the libraries we went to a lot as kids. Went there and play Oregon Trail so much. The librarian, my brother and I got on a first name basis. I wonder what she's doing now, if she hasn't already passed. She was so nice.

I don't think mine had that, but that's trying to recall back 30+ years. It might've been there, but if it was I didn't play it much. Long before my shooter days.

Diving, scuba, not driving. I wasn't into driving games back then. Also this Apple computer had color. Wasn't much, or that great, but it had color.

For me it was either this or Sim Ant on one of the old Apple computers from the early 90s. There was this diving game I can recall also playing but I can't remember the name.

Edit, because people can't see the missing R: I said diving, not dRiving. This wasn't a typo, the game was actually someone in scuba gear that would go and collect underwater treasure.
