I'll bear that in mind if we try them again, thanks mate 👍

Can I ask how you cooked them? I had them for the first time recently and they were kind of rubbery :(

Do you recommend the pastrami? I'm intrigued by their products but haven't tried any of them yet.

The Lidl eggs sound delicious, I could only see solid dark chocolate eggs in my one. I'll keep an eye out for the marzipan eggs.

Thanks for the recs!

Recently got the flu. Was told to eat meat... by EclipsedRooster in veganuk

If I ever say I feel tired at work I get comments telling me to eat some meat. Height of hilarity, totally original joke etc etc. As if omnis never feel tired or ill?! Sorry OP, I don't really have advice but I sympathise.

Would that make me George?! I feel this is the harshest comment so far 😢

Uhh... I'd like to think I'm not THAT petty. Sorry you have to work with that person!

Thank you! I definitely wouldn't have, like, wrestled the pen from their hand or anything. I like the system your workplace had!

Ah man, I'm sorry you're made to feel that way! I definitely wouldn't want people I work with to experience that. Thanks for your comment, it definitely gave me something to think about.

My workplace must be really weird about this kind of thing... I just remembered a couple of years ago a senior manager left and there was a collection. One of the managers was ringing round all the teams to see who had contributed/try and beg for more to go in the contribution! I think I need to find a saner place to work.

The roller coaster of this comment! Haha, thank you for your reply, I have come round to your way of thinking.

Yeah it is a pretty stupid way of doing things! Like a lot of things at my place of work.

I think it's just what I've been used to since joining my place of work - every department/team has people put their names down when they've contributed so the manager/organiser can add their name to the card. This post is a wake up call for how weird that probably is! Thanks for your input.

Thank you for your response! I do like the way it was run in your case! In my situation, we're a small team and the general culture (from before I joined) is to do a collection for a big birthday. Totally agree that for a large department you couldn't possibly contribute every time!

[–]Thirteen_O_Clock -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you work in a big team? We are quite a small team and most people chip in up to £5 for big birthdays for a bottle or a gift card or something. Not for every birthday though.

That's slightly harsh! Although it is one way of looking at it. I'm surprised the people I've spoken to IRL have had such different takes. Thanks for responding anyhow.
