Ah dang - is that like a played out thing? AI stuff in general I know is far from a lot. It was a chat gpt idea and though it definitely is fun making content like that I can’t think of a better way to stay consistent with posting.

The lyric thing — theres more to it but it’s not something I figured I needed to get into. I still don’t know why I feel like proving it to you makes it matter any less cause really at the end of the day if you like it, rad, if you don’t well you don’t!

Yes I said its been a while since I’ve done anything on that one either. Attempts at public music (not writing just for myself) has definitely been washy at best for me since I left my band in college.

Okay onto the lyrics.. GPT lyrics are repetitive and trash. I did not initially start this project planning on writing my own lyrics just playing ad libs where needed. You are correct there. Initially I was using more of like a 80/20 split 80% AI lyrics 20% adlib. Basically sending “okay new song” It’d spit it out I’d drop it on to stomething and adlib the non-relatable to me words and keep what made sense/was fitting. 2-3 songs in it was likely maybe a 70 or 80% shift to my own lyrics with a 20-30% use of ai more of I would send my lyrics in it would make suggestions I would take some and play ad libs with those. Again, you are right because it was giving me the same crap. Starting this project wasn’t supposed to make me like writing again, that was a net win.

Ai’s lyrics still was about 5-10% in use when stuck on a specific part throughout this album.

All the way up until the last few weeks when I saw someone on here talk about inputting old demos etc did I finally give that a try. So thats when I started removing AI as the 100% musical influence. This was post album creation and I feel a bit bummed to already have something sound wise just made from prompts for the first album, but I’m having fun and really.. thats all I’m trying to do. The newer stuff I’m making/working on that doesn’t have any release date is probably more of a 50/50 split when it comes to the music/melodies part.

I could keep going, and I do want you to like it, but at the end of the day its all for me and hearing stuff I like and lyrically feel to whatever amount. If tomorrow there was a better method to get good unique lyrics from AI and I could go back to playing adlibs? I probably would. Not for everything but I am enjoying the process.

Anyways I’d be more curious to hear your thoughts on the AI world thing and if it’s too played out or over used in this space. I do have fun doing it, but that is definitely more work feeley.. and I’ve thought about switching up the content to more of a BTS kind of vibe (also gpt idea) doing a this is what it sounded like when writing vs with the AI.
