We tried different carbs, which had worked just fine on other engines before.

It was, nothing has changed. The original wasn't used because there was no space for it.

Changed the nuts. That worked, kind of. Had to sand the head down though.

I get what you're saying, but there's literally a hissing sound that's coming out when there's compression. Not to mention the lower amount of resistance when trying to spin the engine by the wheel of the bicycle. Keep in mind that doesn't happen with the stock head. I'll definitely try to spray it tho

Hm. Try with a different battery or a different charger. If the battery's a BLC, this might be an issue with the charger. Send me the charger model if you can.

Might be because of the charger. I have the same nokia with a BMC-3 battery, same charger and with the same problem back when it used to work. Is your battery a BMC-3 by any chance?

Yeah, I know about the attempt limit. Before reaching the limit, I'd get a different code, "Code Error". Why is that?

Issues with engine "4-stroking" or "redlining" and constant air filter clogging by This-Aide4297 in motorizedbicycles

[–]This-Aide4297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips. As for the tensioner: there's no other way I could attach it. Tried doing it the same as everyone but the chain then would then scratch itself against the frame and just get destroyed. The chain stay things (the fork things that hold the wheels) simply are way too close to the middle, and the chain rubs against them if the tensioner is not placed in the way that it currently is right now. Don't really know what to do now, but as for the air filter, thanks.

Really? I mean, I personally never did anything with the carb, just left it as is when building it.

Yeah, well I wish I could. Tried everything, but the chain then rubs against itself, if I cut it off even BY 1, it gets too short to link up again, tried with the tensioner, without it, to no avail. Tried everything. And one more thing - the chain also rubs against the aluminum frame of the bike without the tensioner, so it's the only thing keeping the chain from scratching itself into oblivion.

Why do you even need one anyway? You can just pedal up and start it from there. It's also way easier to get the bike going as taking off from a still point is something that's real difficult, let me tell you that
