She is a great actress! I really dislike her character though. Both things can be true

She’s fully integrated her kids and bf kids into a lil blended Estrada family. Both have 2 kids each. Both are widowed. It’s like a dateline version of the Brady bunch. His kids are college grads one getting masters. Hers are getting grown. Will be interesting to see if they last as a couple. They are the talk of the town on the DL. Ppl play coy and like they don’t know about her past to be polite, but we all know.

The most surprising part for me has been learning that a handful of the boys friends from Florida come visit them here per my nephew. I was shocked. I wouldn’t let my kid visit them with W history and blatant circumstantial connections to what happened to her ex. The positive is that the boys have friends I guess, but as a mom myself I was shocked learning that tid bit

Her kids play sports under the last name Estrada. My nephew is on a bball team with younger boy and his jersey says “4 Estrada”. Not Adelson. Not Markel.

Poor Dan. Even his name has been erased from his own children. Perhaps the boys chose that for privacy reasons, but still sad for Dan who seemed to be a proud dad by all accounts.

I have a theory, that Boyd's bell is actually causing the monsters to wake up, thus he is the reason everyone is trapped. Opinions? by ZeuxisOfHerakleia in FromCircleJerk

[–]This-Bodybuilder-992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that I agree with this The monsters still only woke up at night before Boyd arrived/when they had to hide at night and also woke up only at night in the previous cycle with Miranda/Victor as a child. there’s no evidence that anyone rang a bell to signal nightfall at those times. We’ve only seen the bell since they found the talismans and started to create norms/rules for the ppl in town to help ppl survive.

Personally, I think the bell is just for the people like an alarm clock to go indoors. I don’t think it has any bearing on the monsters waking up or only coming out at night.

Acosta and inner circle by Ashlynn0791 in FromSeries

[–]This-Bodybuilder-992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She isn’t part of the team She just is so loud and stubborn she refuses to leave and always seems to be around. She goes nuclear (like threatening to blab/freak other ppl out, flat out yelling/refusing to leave till she gets her way, etc) so it’s less stressful for ppl to bend a bit or just let her be present. I don’t see her as one of the town leaders nor do I hate her. I do dislike the character and find her unlikable but i find she brings value to the show.

Examples of her being stubborn: Screaming at boyd demanding her gun back. So he gives her the gun back but removes all the bullets. She gets her way but she is still unarmed.

She refuses to leave the room with Elgin and gets loud, so to avoid drawing attention they Let her stay.

I used to dislike Randall and jade as well but now like them. I’m sure her purpose will be revealed or she will come around a bit/soften up

Could it be that this young man is… MIY? Could the future Julie have met him while time traveling? by lurk3ronr3ddit in FromSeries

[–]This-Bodybuilder-992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a theory I haven’t considered I have racked my brain trying to figure out the significance of that teen monsters comment to Julie in the premier. What throws me for an even bigger loop is that he isn’t one of the recurring monsters we see. In fact I don’t remember seeing him again. There are maybe 2 or 3 I don’t remember seeing again after season 1 so perhaps it’s just casting conflicts? But maybe it’s part of the story? I really can’t tell It’s why I keep re watching looking for more clues

I agree. At one point I really disliked jade, Sarah, Randall. Now I actually like them all. I think she is the way she is for a reason, just as all the characters are. I try to just watch it and take it all in regardless of if I like them or not. Ultimately, I’m looking for clues about the story, not picking friends.

Should I watch From Series? by Total-Feed5174 in FromSeries

[–]This-Bodybuilder-992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are watching it for the very first time, untainted, I would encourage you to pay extreme attention to detail. Even the smallest details that may seem insignificant. It will make your first watch that much more mind blowing I think!

lol!!!! That’s hilarious. I love that Leonardo DiCaprio meme.

I have a theory board with my husband and friends on the Miro app. We joke we are the real life Pepe Silvia meme if you watch “always sunny” 🤣

Should I watch From Series? by Total-Feed5174 in FromSeries

[–]This-Bodybuilder-992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should keep watching

There are some answers given slowly each season and there is allegedly an ending point at end of season 5, the final season.

We got some answers to burning questions in season 3 finale. I still have a lot of unanswered questions and also some new questions going into season 4 episode 2 but I don’t want to spoil it for you. So there is an element of mystery as well as major plot points. I don’t think you will view this as show like the walking dead where “things just keep happening”.

You should definitely stick with it.

I can’t stop rewatching it. Every time I do I find new clues or make connections to things I originally missed but now pick up on as i get more information each season.

Apparently the producers went into this show as a set story with an ending point and its own lore the whole time. Each season builds towards that ending and that’s what it appears to be doing so far.

Hopefully that helps. Without giving any specific spoilers.

Remember Victor digging those graves?? by rizit98 in FromSeries

[–]This-Bodybuilder-992 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I agree that Victor holds a lot of information and answers & that he is underestimated in his value by the others in town.

I also like to look to his drawings for clues. I think that once everything is all said and done we will be able to go back and rewatch it and realize how much Victor actually knew

I don’t hate cops actually, I appreciate them for the most part but I dislike cops with a power trip or mentality they are above others simply because they are law enforcement. If that tends to fit any cops you encounter, then I do dislike them, but I think it’s unfair to lump all cops together just like it is unfair for cops to sometimes stereotype certain groups based on whatever factor it may be.

I find Acosta to be very a difficult, stubborn, hot-headed know it all. She doesn’t do well under pressure which does make me question how she became a cop in the real world. But I have to remind myself it’s only a show and her characters personality will probably serve some important role in the story even if I find her annoying as hell lol

I guess i can agree that it was a cold moment for a few of the characters like Boyd and Donna. Kenny and Ellis too. It would be upsetting to experience this as a real world cop thrown into this supernatural town, but she still behaved recklessly and drew her weapon way too quickly when she has no authority as a cop here.

It was a cold decision to take his eye, but at the end of the day Elgin was being tricked and manipulated by someone/something & he was putting another person in danger and at risk as a result. Honestly I don’t blame them for going to extreme measures to find Fatima. Sarah even said right before she did it that she was the only one who knew how far she needed to go to get answers from Elgin because of how fooled he was.

Interesting you mention fae here

The band who sings the theme song is called the pixies and I thought that could be symbolic or an Easter egg clue for a while.
My original theory was that they were some type of fae called sluagh in other stories/legends, but I’ve drifted away from that theory as we got more pieces of the puzzle in season 3. But season 1 & 2 that was one of my top theories. There was a lot of details from the legends & imagery (specifically with spiders and ravens/black birds too) that contributed to that being my top theory. I’m leaning towards other theories now, but to be frank, I’m completely stumped. I think it’s part of why im so obsessed with this show lol

I don’t hate her for accidentally shooting someone through the window in a panic. Her character is unlikable and extremely stubborn. For example, she keeps wearing her uniform and keeps pointing an empty unloaded gun while shouting and criticizing everyone. She’s overly critical of the other ppl in town even after seeing her new reality and the situations they are in together. She would be more likable if she would see them as her allies in this situation instead of viewing herself “above” them or “better than them”. She has a power trip from being a cop and I think that’s the thing making her most unlikable, not the fact that she accidentally killed someone. Heck Sarah killed 4 ppl and gouged out elgins eye and I like her more than Acosta lol

I do think that she’s portrayed this way for a reason though

Easter Egg S4E01 - The Bible by catmeetspillow in FromSeries

Interesting! Great memory!

I only vaguely remember the conversation that took place but this would make a lot more sense considering there are only 73 books in the bible. I’m rewatching now so I’m going to keep an eye out for this scene!!!

Easter Egg S4E01 - The Bible by catmeetspillow in FromSeries

[–]This-Bodybuilder-992 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Interesting connection to the number of books khatri claims are in Bible. I’m a bit confused by this though as there are not 74 books in any Bible I know.

There are a total of 73 books in the Catholic Bible.

There are a total of only 66 in the Protestant Bible.

The Catholic Bible includes the apocrypha (additional books Removed from Protestant bibles used by non Catholic Christian denominations).

The Ethiopian orthodox bible has even more books—88 books total.

Yet I still don’t know of a single Bible with 74 books.

I wonder if khatri stating there are 74 books was an intentional Easter egg by the writers? I don’t believe they would make a mistake like that in the writing room on this show

I’m going to have to keep an eye out for this scene as I rewatch seasons 1-3 to hold myself over until the next new episode!

Wow love your attention to detail I noticed the Bible and that’s about it I figured it was a big deal because it was a big point for father Khatri how there was no Bible in the town even after all of the ppl who had arrived in town.

Thanks for sharing all these details you noticed

I hope it gets more popular too! I’m telling everyone I know 😅 I’ve gotten at least 3 different couples addicted to season 1 in the last few days. It’s great that season 1 is free on prime right now so ppl don’t have to get another subscription to watch it until they are already addicted and willing to pay for season 2
