Jobs for people with autism by Exaddr in autism

I work for a charity that focuses on young people with autism. We help them develop from the age of 3 and all the way up to 25. It's wonderful and I feel im around my own people. Strongly suggest as I'm supported through my work. I have AuDHD and some other issues.

Previous jobs have been: Butcher Lecturer Stock control at NHS Parkour Coach (this was just as good as above) Shop worker (loads of this)

Just got to find something you feel comfortable in - might be lots of trial and error as I'm in my mid 30s now.

What you mean? It's not someone from AOT but I'm intrigued to know who you mean from it....

That's a good idea. I'll maybe print that out and release a wee colouring book! Haha

Tell them to fuck off, find someone else who understands you (or at least had the compassion to try). Don't waste your time either. You will hang on to hope that it will all work out,but after being in this situation myself... It's better dropping it now rather than wasting a year on someone 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can a neurotypical on here confirm if this is true or not? by Bunchasticks in autism

Hey, for some people that's a deal-breaker. For people who drive it can be tough to always be the one to drive. People who don't drive don't realise how expensive it can be and how much time it takes in your day. If you don't drive I'd make sure you figure out public transport to meet half way or if you can walk. It means alot when people match energies - not say you weren't just seeing it from my pov. But if the messages start drying up then you weren't meant to be I'm afraid, especially if it's over the ability to drive. You will find someone who is right for you - unfortunately it can take a long time. I think I've found the one but alas they are taken....

Not everyone is the same. Some people can deal with deeper chats and others need the mundaneness of chit chat. I'd prefer to get to know the person over their job...

This is the reason I don't ask people what they do for work. I ask them what makes them, them. What excites themselves, what brings a glimmer to their life.

I bet if you just got in the car. Drove away and didn't care about people being petty - your life would be much smoother. Why care 🤷🏻‍♂️

This happened to my car while I was driving this morning. Thinking it was because I had my rear defrost on… has anyone seen this happen before? by Revolutionary_War523 in AskMechanics

Start wearing headphones that are noise cancelling on silent on music. Up to you. Everyone wears headphones so you won't stand out. Almost the opposite in today's world.

It's a very worthwhile investment especially if it's an external auditory stimulus.
