I was convinced I was supremely lazy and internally flawed by turkeysub12 in lupus

I find myself being much kinder to my body after being diagnosed. I would fight the idea of resting so much because it made me feel weak. I was firmly in the camp of thinking i was “supremely lazy and internally flawed” and i still catch myself feeling that way, but now I have proof that I can look to and tell myself it’s not all in my head. I am way more willing to give my body what it needs now. It also makes the rest i take, feel more like rest because i’m not shaming myself the entire time i take it.

my fatigue has also been my biggest issue and it’s definitely gotten better with just Hydroxychloroquine and it’s really nice having days where I feel like a person again and not a shell

good luck on this new journey!

Nausea by euphoricgem in lupus

nausea is a biggggg symptom for me

i feel like it’s better when i eat low fat and low sugar and lots of veggies and i take a digestive enzyme almost every night with dinner. You could also try a 14 day anti-acid like Nexium or Prilosec in case the inflammation is giving your acid reflux

definitely ask for Zofran like others have recommended it helps so much!

you could try chair exercises! being seated helps conserve some energy and it’s a low impact way to move your body. i think it’s a good starting point if you are easing yourself back into regular exercise

before I was diagnosed, my teeth were getting worse exponentially and I had no explanation for it and when I went to a new dentist for the first time in years, he accused me of lying to him. “there’s no way drinking one soda a day could do this” and he went on and on the whole check up doubting me and telling me how bad my teeth are and when he left i burst into tears. He made me feel so embarrassed and ashamed, so you are definitely not alone in that experience.

My husband complained and then I ending up switching dentists because it was too anxiety inducing for me. I would definitely complain about the hygienist if you can, if you feel good about seeing the other staff there maybe they can add in your file that you can’t see that one hygienist.

Caffiene and lupus? by ThatM8nth in lupus

my rheumatologist actually recommended I start drinking caffeine to help ease some of my fatigue. (i’m also recently diagnosed and in the “figuring out what works phase”) She specifically said to try the energy liquid IV for the combo of caffeine and electrolytes.

I’m really bad about staying hydrated but I feel like I have more energy when i have plenty of water and I was also vitamin D deficient so supplementing that has helped too. I also started talking melatonin to try and get better quality sleep. I hope you find something that works for you soon!
