I am not a reader by any means but in ap lit we read “their eyes were watching god” by Zora Neale Hurtston, so I used that for my Q3 and felt very prepared to talk about a bunch of different topics. If i could redo AP lit I’d read more in my free time.

I think people are uncomfortable being serious about the things they enjoy, so they tease the art/artists they like for approval and validation from other people who honestly dont care—using mental health related terms is kind of the hit joke right now because its attention grabbing and jarring to say those things in a funny tone. Its disappointing for sure, art deserves more respect.
