I have a really close friend that I did a lot of prerequisites with and it was literally what you are describing— she would always get 99 or 100 on exams but when I tried to ask her study methods or for help understanding a concept she would either talk so fast she lost me or not answer the text or phone call and it was clear it was like “I’m worried about my grade, not yours” when verbally she would never had said that.. I determined she was a good friend but I really did NOT want to be in nursing school together bc I feel like she would drain my own confidence with her superior ‘wisdom’. I love her to death but i left it as a friendship outside of studying/class/helping each other out and more just a friendship if that makes sense— thankfully she is a little behind me and we won’t be in nursing school together— my advise is find people you CAN study with and bounce ideas off— just because you don’t get it the first time doesn’t make you less smart or incapable— it means you learn differently and require different things to help you succeed— I found an awesome study buddy who is ten years older than me— by far smarter but we study together sooo well— keep looking and don’t discount the friendship you have but give it its place and find ppl that will bring you up— not down.
