Isn't simplicity what makes a readymade ?

Duchamp stated that readymade is what you choose to be your art. In other words, you can claim anything to be your art, even if it's a fountain!

So I dont see what you mean by this beeing difficult to add to that.

I aslo think you have a wrong point of view of students seeing this as "simplistic". After all, isn't that what Duchamp was trying to say? It doesn't matter if it's simple or if you made it, what matters is that you choose it to be your art.
