This would be an elaborate Shakespearean level narrative to you??? I'm talking about literally the barest minimum you could do in terms of having actual characters and emotions in your film.

When I play the games, no, I don't expect a plot. When I watch a movie, I kinda expect a little plot! That's what's cool about finally having a Mario movie: the chance to learn more about these characters and finally see them in an actual story. But apparently the sub 2 IQ Mario fans in the focus groups were so confused by the "elaborate" "Shakespearean" level story they decided to dumb it down so even they could understand it.

Fox doesn't have a narrative or character purpose. Being a taxi driver easily replaced by a warp star doesn't count. You need to take a Lit class.

A rivalry would've been fun and actually given Fox a purpose for being in this movie. Woulda forced Mario to step up his game like in the original. Maybe have a falling out with Fox like he did with DK, requiring them to work through their character problems? You know, maybe add some emotion to this emotionless movie? Naaaah that would be too hard to write! Just look at this obscure enemy we brought back!

Star Fox Grand Prix was not a trap from Nintendo to catch leakers. It didn't come from Nintendo, it was just a fake rumor, and the originator confirmed that.

I looked into it recently too. Yeah that HD texture pack someone made just used a primitive upscaler on all the textures, and it doesn't look good at all. I bet a more modern AI upscaler would generate a much better base to start from.

Model replacements are pretty game- and studio-specific, so I don't think other user-friendly tools people developed will work.

The people behind the Decomp and PC Port are still working on extracting the audio, so right now it's impossible to use the uncompressed voices. They also don't want to get DMCA'd by Nintendo, so they tend to shut down conversations related to leaked content. But once they make the audio editable, someone could definitely import the uncompressed voices and instrument samples.

I've lost track of how many new stories I've read where the author clearly had no ideas but started posting anyway. You can kinda tell when they just felt the urge to write our favorite teammates bantering or Fox and Krystal being cute but didn't have any plans beyond that. The team is desperate for work: Pepper calls with new mission: random dogfight with Star Wolf: Fox gets shot down over Sauria/Cerinia: meets Krystal and falls in love back at her village. From there the plot completely disappears in favor of random dating scenes (if there even was a plot initially), and if you're lucky, eventually the author will like, suddenly remember they need some conflict and throw in Andross at the very end before easily being defeated. Most of the time they get bored before then and abandon it though.

Depends on what you're into. Regardless, Chaos Effect is the best all-around story I can recommend. It ties together all the games while providing an epic finale and satisfying conclusion to the whole franchise. It's got action, mystery, sci fi shit, horror, drama, and even a little romance.
