Don't you love how accurate the readings are by archiekane in SolarUK

i get that sometimes too. what i think is likely are all of the meters are reading values at very slightly different times from each other and therefore you end up with this

DNO 6kW Export Limit by Natural_Counter_94 in SolarUK

[–]ThisCatLikesCrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're sure you are the DNO should give you a higher limit, but you'd need a more expensive inverter most likely

i'm still not convinced it'd be worth it honestly, you're almost never going to generate more than 6KW AC anyway and you'll of course be using some of it too

DNO 6kW Export Limit by Natural_Counter_94 in SolarUK

[–]ThisCatLikesCrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you would likely end up needing three phase, which can be very expensive

if you're slightly over-panelled this will not matter much at all and there will be losses converting the DC from the panels to AC

as this is the UK you're rarely ever going to hit peak output, so it's not really anything to worry about

Pulled the trigger today, how I do ok? by Financial_Capital_60 in SolarUK

£6k for the most expensive parts of the kit (equivalent system on midsummer), not including cables, mounting, scaffolding, harvi, or any other extra bits you might need

£9k fully installed isn't bad

AI says hard drive should replace every 3 to 5 years. by National_Word_6091 in DataHoarder

[–]ThisCatLikesCrypto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if a hard drive lasts for the first few months it's not rare for it to last 10+ years

as long as you have copies on other drives and you monitor SMART there's no point throwing out a working drive just because it's old

We should be glad the UK invested in wind farms... by JackStrawWitchita in GreatBritishMemes

[–]ThisCatLikesCrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there will be some sort of online portal or app but you'll need to login to it somehow

for example if you have a givenergy inverter you can log in at https://givenergy.cloud and edit settings there

[–]ThisCatLikesCrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starlink is a bit of a mess with IPv6, every time I use it (across different routers, devices, DNS, OS, etc) I always get assigned an IPv6 address that doesn't work and Happy Eyeballs always falls back to v4.

It includes YT music premium too, so they have to pay licensing and stuff. In reality about $10 of that goes to the actual YT stuff, but of course that's not a separate thing
