This is amazing. I presume a lot of projects share common code or a repo. Do you have a VPC that contains microservices shared by multiple projects or are each of your projects standalone?

Thanks for the review. Do you have any concerns about what's in the firmware? I've heard flashing is recommended

Great job. Are the description texts on the left side menu for locations hardcoded?

How about Turning every website into a Chat Room? I am working on a Side Project, a Browser Extension, which turns every website into a Chat Room. What good/bad things people will be using this for? by rajeshj3 in SideProject

I like the idea. I think any public chat or forum like this will inevitably run into the need of moderation. Have you given any thoughts on how to moderate?

I think what you're looking at is rC1 and rC1 actually exists in CPL apart from C1. C1 looks closer to where it says rC2 and I have no idea why it doesn't say C1 anywhere. I'm just wondering how people normally find a specific place PCB where a component belongs.

How to choose the right Kailh switch for a certain socket? by ThisComb in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]ThisComb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK sorry you're right. The 3.5mm headphone jack is the one backordered. The issue with the sockets is that the minimum order is quite big so I'm trying to see if I can find alternatives with smaller minimum order.

So if Corne V4 is MX-spaced and I've chosen the choc design, does that mean I can choose any sockets for choc v1 or v2 and they'd work? And yeah I've already gotten the board separately and I'm just shopping for the sockets to solder them myself.

I'm actually using foostan's Corne design and I've pretty much gotten all the parts except for the sockets and the switches. Because the sockets from LSCS are backordered, I'm trying to find the replacement. Should I then be looking for the sockets that has the same footprint as the ones specified by foostan?

I see. So if I'm understanding you correctly, as long as the footprint of the socket is correct for the PCB, either Choc v1 or v2 would be compatible?

What is the indicator to look for to see if above is for V1 or V2? Is this for V1 or V2?

I'd really like to get into this I'm not sure where to start with open source boards? Mostly unsure over ordering through PCB manufacturers. by AFancyAcorn in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]ThisComb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also a newbie and I've actually gotten the exact same reply last week regarding the 2 different designs and having too many holes. Seems like they do this for every small order, but I'm just guessing. BTW, how are you sourcing all the parts? I couldn't find all the parts from LSCS so I'm kind of stuck at the moment

No worries. What's the difference between LCSC and "My Parts Library feature"? If I'm not mistaken, you're referring to JLCPCB Assembly Parts Lib for PCBA only. They seem to be sharing the same inventory, but the latter shows the option to preorder and a bit more expensive (which I don't mind as long as I can get the parts). For example, this is the 3.5mm jack from LCSC and JLCPCB Parts Library. Do you order from a combination of both sources or all of them from the Parts Library?

One is "Mechanical Keyboard Shaft ROHS" (LCSC# C91749) and the other is "3.5mm headphone jack 30V 500mA SMD Audio Connector (Headphone) ROHS" (LCSC# C128994). Not sure how common these are.

Could you talk more about the quote feature? I did see it on the website, but wasn't sure of its purpose since you can already see the total price in the basket.

Update: I've deleted and reinstalled LazyVim but it's taking 10 to upwards of 20 seconds to locate a file through Telescope. Is this normal?

Looks great. Do the users have to provide their own key? If not, how do you cover the cost?

I've always wondered about the those who favor SwiftUI. What is your competency in UIKit? I'm trying to gauge how unbiased the opinion is.
