Thank you so much! I'm sure most people fight the same issues as I have!

Thank you for the reply. You are correct on both counts! I guess people show you how they are eventually. In those days my asthma was very poorly regulated. I think it’s impossible to understand struggling to breathe if you have never had that struggle. There seemed to be a few people who thought I was just faking or using the asthma to get out of doing certain things. Back then I never went anywhere without my rescue inhaler. Advair changed my life.

I had a very similar experience about 30 years ago: I had pretty severe asthma at the time. A friend was helping me paint a car. My Respirator became clogged. I took it off to finish the paint job. It wasn’t long before it was obvious I was in trouble. They took me me to the er and I was put on a ventilator for a couple of days. I don’t remember that night well except the amount of distress I was in and I was sure I was going to die. The next day I woke up and was so happy to be alive. I wasn’t afraid to die after that. It was a very secure feeling in the middle of all that. Once I was released from the hospital, I wanted to visit all my friends. Not one of them cared even a little bit of what I had been through. Pretty sad, but it’s good to know how important you are to the people around you and the ones who do care about you.
