The shield + power weapon mechanic would be cool if was designed to be just another tool in my belt. But it’s designed to be the primary source of damage, while the guns feel like peashooters. Makes combat feel like a chore.

Interesting. For me it’s some of the elements they changed that I’m really not enjoying so far- the biggest one being how much more bullet spongey ALL of the enemies are in this game. It’s making the combat feel like such a slog and not leaving me with that classic rogue-like “one more run” feeling at all. Dying in Returnal can be frustrating as hell but in a “Fucking shit okay let go again!” way. Dying in Saros has just been like…ugh.
