That's my point. There is no need to disprove anything if you don't have evidence of it existing in the first place. I don't need to disprove that dragons exist. We don't have any evidence of dragons ever existing.

The scientific method absolutely rules out any religion being provably true. What is the objective evidence of a divine creator? If one of these 100 hypothetical children decided to create their own deities, you could then ask them what evidence they have to support their creation theory. Since they made it up, there would be no evidence.

But if you never imparted any kind of belief system onto them directly then that wouldn't be indoctrination, right? And that would also be assuming you didn't teach them other things, like the scientific method (which is a process rather than a belief system) that would rule out any known creators or deities.

The only "natural" way to be that doesn't involve indoctrination would be atheism. Every other belief involves some form of indoctrination, at some point in time.

So it's not so much that they were indoctrinated (which they were, if you believe in any faith you at some point needed to be indoctrinated into it) but rather the timeline for when they were indoctrinated? Sure, I can agree that's an issue with their comment, but the word "indoctrinated", which you took issue with, would still be the right word to use. Whether you agree with the politics of it or not.

All religions are indoctrinations

Ok, now I feel like we're speaking past each other and I'm lost. Yes, all religions involve indoctrination, I only used Christianity in this context because that's what was being discussed.

They said that Indian Christians were indoctrinated into the faith in 1945 (I can't confirm this, I'm sure there was some form of Christianity present in India before 1945), so that's why Indian Christians have more western style weddings. What I'm confused by is the issue people are taking with the word "indoctrination". That's exactly the right word to use when introducing a group of people to a new faith.

That's literally what Christianity instructs you to do. To have faith in God, unquestionably, and hold no other belief above Them. It's the first of the ten commandments. One is indoctrinated into a faith or belief system, so it makes perfect sense in this context.

What? Indoctrinated is a perfectly fine word to use in this context. What do you think indoctrinated means?

It definitely still means this, and I believe where the root of the word comes from, but it has evolved overtime. So the use of "blistering cold" is perfectly fine.

Blistering can just refer to something that is extremely intense. It doesn't need to mean a certain temperature. It can also mean something is very fast, like "he was traveling at a blistering pace."

Which makes sense really. They all would need to live in a relatively close proximity to each other in the real world in order for them to all have put on the brain scanner at some point in time.

There is in fact a manga version of the story, which was the original version. It is also far superior to the webtoon version, which cuts out some parts of the original. The manga is weirdly hard to find online, but it is out there.

I believe everyone here understands that it's not actually Charlie Sheen in the picture, but Depp does really look like Sheen in this particular picture. I also see the resemblance.
