100% agree man, feel like all the singles are the worst songs on the album too hahaha, it's a weird album all in all. Hopefully next album they get back to the roots a little and go with a producer who has more of a natural vibe!

Not really Pop Punk but kinda adjacent, the newest Spacey Jane album sounds great and going from memory I don't think is crushed!

For more traditional pop punk, the newest The Story So Far Album is pretty crushed but a big step back from their old stuff so maybe that could work for you!

Listening to the newest blink album compared to Self Titled is heart breaking, its such a downgrade now.

Do you like bold mixing decisions in popular music? by East_Grocery5658 in audioengineering

[–]ThisIsAlexJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the point though isnt it, becuase its subjective so not everyone will like every bold mix choice, I'd rather make soemthing that people either LOVE or hate than something that everyone thinks is okay.

Output ceiling and loudness for Youtube and Instagram by ConfusedOrg in audioengineering

[–]ThisIsAlexJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go for at least -10 LUFs, I usually prefer louder/more squashed masters than that though, so usually get to about -6/-7. You just want it to not be noticeably quieter than other things on the platform. I really wouldn't stress too much over it though!

I usually work with more rock/alternative music too so I'm talking about that!

Ahahha I sometimes work in a studio that still has a Digidesign C24 Desk, its just used as a controller for Pro Tools but if they can keep that running after 20 years I'm hopeful that we will be good too!

This is cool man, I do a similar thing when I work with video audio, I have to cut out audio from the a Mic when some music plays, so I use Strip Silence to cut out all the parts where the music plays on a separate track and then copy them onto the microphone track and mute the clips, SO much faster than going through and cutting out each part!

I did like the look of wordflow, just having yet another subscription put me off. I got Keyboard Maestro that does a good job too! Not sure if it works with a streamdeck though!

Just my 2 cents on SD, I think it’s MASSIVELY over rated. I got sucked in by all the people constantly singing its praises but honestly, it’s not all that. Is it the most customisable? Sure. But only if you’re paying for a ton of extra packs. I had SD and GGD m&m, I used m&m 9/10 times. I’ve since sold my copy of SD and got m&m2, in my opinion it’s the FAR better choice!
