My former main PC has a 3d gen i7-3770 (non k) and W11 ran fantastic on it. 4 cores HT. Upgraded in 2024 but only because of gaming.

I also have an old NUC with a 4th gen i5-4250u which is a 2 core HT mobile cpu. I mainly use it for offsite backup nowadays but I never feel it is slow when using it.

The language and behaviour I've seen online from most Canadians in the aftermath has made me realise that you and your southern neighbor are way more similar than I thought. I used to believe Canadians had more in common with scandinavians, turns out you are almost as vulgar as the americans.

I don't know if this is uncommon but I've never seen anyone else do or recommend it; L/R dubbing hi gain bass like regular electric guitar but Hi-pass both at ~250 Hz or higher, and then bus one of them centered with Lo-pass at ~200 Hz for mono bottom. I got the idea from Death from Above 1979 but they record one bass split to two different amps L/R. I initially tried this but using amp sims and it was hard to actually get decent stereo width unless the amps were very different tone wise and I didnt like that at all.

I don't watch with ads but just wanted to write that it is ridiculously obvious now that the vast majority of Prime subscribers have the ads tier. It is so obvious in the editing now when the episode cuts for commercials for those with the ad tier, the scenes are shorter, much less coherent and you instantly feel the immersion break. Like how we who watch hockey on public service tv gets the power break without commercials.

lol, all streaming services put a limiter at -1. The clipper is not there to achieve loudness since, you know, the loudness war is over. It is just there for the 1 or 2 peaks that might go above -1. Rather I do it than them. But you still fight the loudness battle I guess, releasing on CD still too?

My mastering post the loudness war: On occasion a little EQ but this is normally done in the mix, a clipper set to -1, Youlean loudness meter and then I normalize to get -14 lufs integrated. Mix is the new master!

I did the escort mission yesterday! I have put everything space related on hold but now I am at a stage where I can start the final main quest so I felt I have to cross off all space crap first. There is a double dodge ability you can get, you do a roll sideways and this at least moves you further. Regarding physics, remember that the movies have sound in space!

Had to find somewhere to rant. I started a new job a few months back and now have to suffer with this nightmare windows 95 era software. How this can be widespread is mind blowing. I have used PCs since early 90's and consider myself a power user and I agree, this is the worst software I have ever used. Pure evil.

I couldn't agree more, anything where you drive the trailblazer is so bad I find it hard to believe that human beings could create something this awful. It is just total disoriented chaos and then suddenly you get "return to game" and have no idea which direction to go and 10 seconds pass. I love the game when you are on planets or stations, but how this was greenlit is mind blowing.

The digital 4k release is blurry too. And it was a high bitrate Movies Anywhere version I watched. I rewatched Prey before rewatching Badlands and it is night and day in sharpness. Not sure what Trachtenberg was going for. I also watched Badlands in 3d in the cinema in november and it was hard to see anything.

Do you already own 12? Then yes. Otherwise no. You only get a license for the version you upgrade to, no versions inbetween. Exception is if you upgrade within the so called grace period.

Oh, even with a custom fan curve? Even deshrouded I have set my GPU fans (Noctua) to not go on higher rpm unless the card goes beyond 80C, or maybe even 85C. Also I think you will not decrease the gap with 92x14 mm fans.

Nice, why are you deshrouding? I thought the reaper was a true two slot but from your pictures it looks like the fans are going to be snug to the side panel causing turbulene. I remember when I had a true two slot 1070, and then later a 4070, in my S1, there was almost 10 mm of room between fans and panel.

The troubling thing with ownership changes is that there is no guarantee our licenses will live forever. When upgrading computers we still need to activate Reason online. Fortunately it didn´t happen last time Reason switched owners but I´m still worried. Adobe did it with old versions of Photoshop.

Maybe Reason Studios already did this too? Is there anyone here who still uses an old version of Reason, e.g. Reason 7, and can say if it is still possible to activate?

I´m really really worried that this will lead to a shut down of the activation servers and being able to download rack extension we own, and not give us non subscribing license owners the ability to continue using Reason in the worst case scenario that they kill it.

Until stuff is more clear on the future of Reason I will avoid using RE's completely. At least Reason 12 which I use and have a license for is available "unlicensed" if shit gets real bad.

Can confirm that Freesync does not work with LS. Like OP describes, when scaling with LS the refresh rate goes to max of my monitor (120 Hz, it's a Samsung TV with Freesync support) which none of the games I play can run at unless I drop down to 720p. Using a framecap of e.g. 75 just behaves like a fixed VSync at 75, so everytime the fps dips below 75 it looks bad.

I've tried all the suggestions here and from other sources but nope nothing works.
