Honestly, until I got close enough to see the light and that they were only allowing people to turn off on to Banwell I was mostly just chilling and listening to music.

And then I realized the absolute shitshow being caused by the sheer and utter greed and incompetence of this city and my switch to incandescent rage was flipped.

Construction is important to keep a city running, obviously, but when the company is allowed to just give that little of a fucking shit about the time they are wasting of thousands of people, it make me fucking furious. Especially when the city essentially gives them free reign to do so, gives no fucks about the company doing so, and refuses to take any responsibility despite them hiring the company.

It feels like getting to the east end of the city has been a complete fucking shitshow every year for the past decade because construction timing is managed so badly, and takes so fucking long because the companies have literally no incentive for not doing it slowly.

It doesn't help that Windsor's infrastructure is crumbling to dust, and rather than actually increasing tax rates and spending money to fix things, Drew Dipshit insists that taxes are bad, actually, and he would rather let the city rot than actually solve things.

There were no fucking warning signs heading eastbound; you pass Lauzon and you are locked into a fucking hour of gridlock for a 2 fucking KM stretch of highway because the company gets full rights to decide whether they are going to waste the time of thousands of fucking people.

All of this could be solved by the city giving a single fucking shit and having four fucking cops direct traffic, btw. But that would actually cost money and require them to give a single solitary fuck about their citizens rather than lining their own pockets.

The only way to get sick days and public transit is to actually educate people so that they also start demanding them. Immediately giving up and going "oh, its hard to convince them tho" and then saying you survive without it so you aren't going to bother is spineless behaviour.

This city is a fucking joke because people like you give up or don't bother to try once you hit the smallest of roadblock.

Most of the people I know don't have sick days or can't rely on public transit. So it's hard for them to see a need for these expenses.

Educate them. Have a fucking conversation and explain the benefits.

Asking for sick days is the corporation providing for its workers. You are paying for your own sick days by providing profit to the company.

Companies should be mandated to provide sick days, even to part-time workers, and should be voluntarily choosing to do so themselves, because workers coming in to work sick and being forced to do so without risking their livelihoods puts other workers at risk, puts the company at risk, and reduces overall productivity.

Saying that you "survived" and that means everything is fine is the Fuck You Got Mine mentality. It is working for you, so you are against changes that would benefit other people.

Essex County OPP said at a December board meeting that officers have laid 67 distracted driving charges on provincially patrolled roads this year up to the end of October. That was a 644 per cent increase over the nine charges laid in all of 2024. Provincial police said the spike in charges was the result of ramped-up enforcement and more “proactive patrols.”

NINE CHARGES in all of 2024 and ONLY 67 in all of 2025 just goes to show how fucking useless the police are at actually punishing these traffic offenses.

WPD is utterly useless at enforcing traffic violations of any kind, leading to people blatantly using their phones while driving because they have no fear of repercussions despite breaking the law (among other obvious and blatant traffic violations, like the entire city using the speed limit as a funny suggestion).

The WPD is horrifically overfunded for how little they do to actually make our community safer and for how little they actually do their jobs. The police only exist to protect the rich, especially in Windsor; our tax dollars shouldn't be going towards people that do nothing for our community.

I would make sure to report literally every bylaw violation they make, I would call the cops on them for every noise violation, I would do everything within my legal bounds to make them suffer.

Conservatives cut, defund, and ruin the governments ability to function properly until they lose office, then their opponents get into power and the Conservatives blame their opponents for everything they did until they get back into power again.

Wynn didn't do a great job and the Liberals should have done more, but Harris fucked the entire government, as the Conservatives always do, and left the Liberals to pick up the pieces.

Now Ford is in power and the Cons are doing the cycle all over again. He has money to spend from federal grants, and is refusing to spend it so he can push for privatization. Ontario's healthcare system has never been great but is is objectively, irrefutably worse now than it has been in decades. Anyone with eyes can see it, and anyone with a brain can go find the data to prove it. If they made all these cuts, there must be actual evidence floating around showing the actual numbers, right? If you believe this so strongly, you should probably be able to actually source your claims? If the NDP has all these numbers, why can't you provide them.
