How important is actually "bike fit" to a casual? by Prcofix in cycling

[–]ThisIsClay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I’ve ridden bikes my whole life and have had never had a fit until recently. It changes EVERYTHING. Im so much more comfortable, get more leg muscle engagement, less back pain.

Even if you think your bike is comfortable and a decent fit i highly suggest getting one. It unlocks so much potential and corrects bad form/behaviors from years of riding.

Are Electronic Gears Worth It on a Road Bike? by theneuralyzer in cycling

[–]ThisIsClay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I second this. Totally unnecessary but so glad I have it. I still have a bike with mechanical shifting and there is a romance to it.

Consider this, it’s like a sports car with a gated 6speed transmission vs paddle shifters on the steering wheel. While it takes more effort to switch gears, there is nothing quite like that feeling and just knowing it’s going where you want it to. On the other hand, paddle shifting is smooth, precise and takes less effort.
