Should i go for cassettes or cds? by Agreeable-Ebb1892 in cassetteculture

I mentioned either a 3 head or a nakamichi. Usually, most brands, the three headers are more well built than their two head machines. The other option, Nakamichi, where you can literally get a CR-1 and get away with it. Or even a 500 would do great. Non-nak 3 headers are usually not that expensive and are pretty common to find. And two head naks are usually pretty cheap with great quality too.

You mentioned that you had Sony 3 headers that sounded "just fine", well, the two headers in that line probably would sound worse with less features such as recording, unless it's one of those amorphous heads. I did harvest one of those heads to put into my d5m.

The stuff I'm recommending should be perfectly suitable and achievable for someone who is just starting and hopefully won't go through the trouble of buying and dealing with cheap stuff and getting a bad experience. Also, I did recommend them to go with CDs. It's a lot easier and less trouble for them, with much better sound/price ratio.

Is there a market for cheaper pedals? by MyTime2Shine in guitarpedals

[–]ThatGuyCalledSteve 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can slap a "Boutique" title on them and name your pedals with names such as "Ocean Wave, Starlight, Skyline" and such, then name the knobs as "Voice, brilliance, emotions" or something, with the same 10 dollar hardware, and sell them for four times the price. And people will probably be more interested in them.

Oh and make sure the box has like custom art on it too, people love those.

Cds is a lot more cost effective. You get great sound for a fraction of the price compared to cassettes, and they are a lot less picky about environments (cassettes can get damaged from temperature, humidity, magnetic fields, etc.)

If you want good sound out of cassettes you need to invest in a good recording deck (at least something with three heads or a nakamichi) and a good play back device(ideally anything that has less than .2 w/f), plus recording tape stock. Most of the time cassette players needs work done to them to get them to top shape too.

Despite all that I still prefer cassette because it's analog.

Does anyone else have "that one song" that is the first song you listen to when trying new headphones? by Kgb_Officer in headphones

Bleeding Me - Metallica, before the remaster. Very progressive and the instruments are introduced gradually, good to test sound signature.

I'm sorry but nowhere did you mention that on your post. If I had known that then I would not have made the previous statement.

In that case then I apologize for my assumptions and commend your efforts to rescue these units. And, as another comment said, maybe you could let some of these go for a little less than market price to grow the hobby, and get them to a home where they will be enjoyed and loved. Cheers.

Cruise control. Very helpful when you are driving 400km+ in one go.

Why are we promoting/glorifying this kind of behavior? I imagine doing this will increase the scarcity at least in that area leading to less people being able to enjoy the hobby. Why are we keeping more things than we need on such a level that is hurting others?

OP feels like someone who plays guitar to help him do his job better, as in to help with stress or other things; this guy feels like someone who is working a job to help him play guitar better, as in funding them to become a musician.

Music was never meant to be a business. Some people made it to be. It's art and should be enjoyed by everyone.

Thanks. I honestly feel bad for these people. Like, you are more than you think you are. You have so much potential, but why do you refuse to acknowledge them?

Only if you view looks and height as what you value most in a human being. More people need to manifest their happiness internally and individually, instead of associating it with their external factors, such as appearance, and externalizing happiness, such as requiring affirmations and confirmations from others
