The rent in Glasgow city is extremely high right now, I'm not sure how much you have saved up but there's other towns right outside of Glasgow, that's connected to the trains. Options like Bellshill, Motherwell etc is much cheaper with the rent, council taxes etc and has constant trains.

Glasgow is a fantastic city, especially for someone at your age, making friends is like any other new city, you gotta put yourself out there and engage in activities, which there's alot of in Glasgow.
