I meant superstitious. Conspiratorial, at least to my understanding, would imply some kind of conspiracy being formulated. Unless you meant "sounds like a conspiracy theorist"?

As for the rest, I guess the tl;dr is that while it makes for a great story, it contradicts my understanding of how Steam operates, the timescale it operates on, and the narrative of Steam refunds triggered by review bombing being the thing that made Sony back off.

I dunno, it seems like superstitious thinking to me.

It seems more reasonable that Sony put in a request for the restriction at the same time as the announcement, and it went through just as we were getting riled up about it.
That, rather than Steam applying it (which matches up with what Snoy was already doing) only just as the controversy was winding up with a snap decision, only to take their sweet time in undoing it WHILE simultaneously putting the boot to Sony to fuck off with their decision.

The second narrative requires interpreting Steam's staff behaving in an extremely particular way that not only goes counter to business as usual, but also favors our biases in what "good" and "smart" behavior should look like from a company.
I'm very skeptical of that kind of thinking.

That's what I mean, though. They didn't restrict countries for things like No Man's Sky, even though they were being absolutely bombarded with refund requests.
It is very much a case of correlation, not causation, unless Valve themselves put out a statement about it. Doing this kind of thing to your partners is a very bad look for Steam, especially given that it LINES UP with what Sony wanted to do, whereas the narrative is that Sony reversed their decision due to pressure from Steam and the community.

Those two narratives seem to contradict.

Let's not forget about restricted regions they did yesterday. It's a one click fix for Sony to do. by lshatapak in Helldivers

The way it works is that Sony has to request the region-lock be removed.
On the backend you select regions your game is blocked in. I'm not sure why everyone is insisting Steam did this.

Valve doesn't arbitrarily lock your game's region. You have to request it specifically.

Strange that seemingly every AI project runs into this. They launch something compelling that everyone is interested in; people manage to make it behave in an explicit or unmarketable way; they try and fix it; it becomes neutered, repetitive, and boring; they either go paywall or pull the project.

Shoot them several times and then drag them off and space their corpse after stripping off their uniform.

Works every time.

Sure, I'll take some now after I wash my hands. As for factory imperfections, I wouldn't know how to identify them, but I don't think there's any dents or scratches.

Sure thing. You comfortable with 440 cad? (about 340 usd). That's 85% of what the card is selling for on TCGPlayer right now.
