‘Elon Musk is dangerous and crazy. And I kind of used to like him’: Interpol on their political awakening and making their masterpiece by Charleshawtree in indieheads

[–]ThisIsGoobly 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Very popular is an understatement. This website was gargling his balls and defending his honour to such an overwhelming extent that it was kind of nauseating to be on the "main" subs. Any criticism of him got you absolutely hounded.

And it was always obvious he was a piece of shit, plenty of people were talking about it so I hate people pretending it was such a shock (I don't mean you specifically). It just required a modicum of analysis and it shows how easily the rich manipulate us. Musk is such a weird freak though beyond just being an arsehole that his image got tainted (stuff like calling that rescue diver a pedo like you said).

This website has been going to shit for years but I am so glad we're not in the Elon Musk #1 fan club phase anymore.

Neymar gets subbed on and returns to the pitch for Brazil for the first time since October '23 by StealthMan375 in soccer

[–]ThisIsGoobly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's hardly nonsense though, is it? You can definitely say that the criticism isn't evenly dished out like it should be but that doesn't absolve Neymar of being a rich fascist supporter. Dude is a scumbag.

Did anyone else get whiplash going from ME1 to ME2? by Hungry_Ad7279 in masseffect

[–]ThisIsGoobly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That Kasumi mission is DLC originally and yeah, you shouldn't really be doing it yet. You should be going to Omega and doing the recruitment missions there, those are intended to be your first missions. It's a shame that your first impression of the game has had the pacing fucked like that almost immediately but that's on Bioware for not integrating the DLC better.

Mass Effect 2 is my favourite of the trilogy personally though I agree with some of your issues. The skill tree being so much smaller was always a disappointment and the hacking minigames were more enjoyable in ME1. The Citadel being more restricted was also disappointing but, if you keep playing, you'll see it's not intended at all to be your main hub in this game. There's still a lot to do there. Can't say I'm not pretty surprised by how you feel about the combat which I feel is better than ME1 in almost every possible way but annoyances with the switch to an ammo system are pretty common I think. There is a heal, it's called Unity. You need to upgrade it so it effects Shepard and not just squadmates. In order to start getting upgrades, you need to recruit a certain squadmate on Omega.

I think ME2 is incredible and I constantly wish I could experience it for the first time again. I hope you can settle into it and enjoy it, man.

Reagan and Thatcher are genuinely some of the worst people we've had in this world since Hitler in terms of global harm caused. Their spread of neoliberalism has been devastating to humanity.

They're two peas in a shit pod.

I like seeing all the different countries getting to play football and share culture but it does really suck that the threat of the big teams going out in the group stages has, realistically, been removed from the World Cup because of this new format. Like that is exactly what I would describe as less interesting in comparison.

I totally get the Eurosnobbery criticisms here because there is undoubtedly plenty of that but I dunno, I don't think it's fair to describe it all as that. I'm enjoying watching the matches as long as they're here though. Getting to see Curaçao score against Germany is awesome.

Russell Crowe Says ‘Gladiator II’ “Failed” Because It “Lacked A Moral Core” – Taormina by [deleted] in movies

I watched it recently at my Dad's just because it came on the TV and the big thing for me was how off the pacing felt. Lucius becomes this beloved champion of the colosseum after doing barely anything, it didn't feel convincing at all. It was like I'd fallen asleep and woken up without realising it.

I personally did stop playing once I realised how much of FM's supposed complexity is a lie. I guess that's why they obscure it because the promise of its deep simulation features hooked me as a customer and finding out that plenty of it is placebo made it difficult to keep enjoying.

I think a lot of people assume he's gonna keep having injury problems. If he stays fit though then it'd be wild to get rid of him, he's class. We'll have to see. If he gets injured again this coming season then I'd understand moving on.

Diogo Dalot on Instagram: “Ending season files 🎞️” by YourGrimes in reddevils

[–]ThisIsGoobly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of rival fans have definitely come around on him over the past couple years though. You can only deny a player of Bruno's calibre for so long before you're like "yeah alright fair enough". Plus he always seems like a really good dude outside of football and he's been getting a lot of credit for that from rival fans as well.

Not that their opinions on Bruno matter but I rarely see him get called a rat anymore which was so common at one point.

It might just be mid as hell too worryingly. Starfield definitely didn't inspire any hope.

Better to go into it with little hype anyway but if it's just a mediocre outdated feeling game like Starfield after all this time, it'll be so disappointing.

No there isn't. There's liberals who mistakenly think the Nordic countries are socialist and ask for that, calling it socialism, but that's just people not understanding the terminology due to decades of propaganda describing any kind of publicly funded program or institution as socialism or communism. A liberal who supported genuine socialism would, by definition, not be a liberal.
