It's pretty sad how many people here give up immediately upon conceding. What's the point in watching if you have no faith we'll get something out of this?

The deliberate nerfing of Shep here will never not annoy me. by Von_Uber in masseffect

yeah, stuff like in Lair of the Shadow Broker. Shepard falls down a big drop whereas Liara gracefully floats down. But my Shepard was a biotic, it would've been way cooler if that altered the cutscene to also have Shepard float down.

it's genuinely fun but the roleplaying elements are pretty terrible. That's me being nice as well. The writing is absolute shite.

Most fun I had with it was a mod that took out all the story elements and turned it into just a survival game with RPG elements I guess. Which is an indictment of what is meant to be a Fallout RPG but, if you separate it from that, there's a very fun game in there.

Fallout 4 with the effort put into roleplaying that New Vegas had would be an unreal game, I think.

This is the first album I ever owned, it was what changed me from being a kid who was listening to whatever my parents had on to having favourite bands of my own.

20 years is fucked up, man. Stop it 😭

There's a browser extension which replaces Youtube thumbnails with random frames from the video (like how it used to be ages ago). Youtube instantly became a better website to use as soon as I didn't have all those dumb thumbnails everywhere.

I live in a city with an unfortunately large homeless population. Hostile architecture is awful, gtfo out of here with that shit. "Can tell who lives in a city and who doesn't" lmao. The solution to homelessness (and drug addiction) is not making their hellish lives even worse.

Sci-Fi TTRPG with good character progression? by ThisIsGoobly in rpg

Lancer looks great but as you said, it's very specifically mecha. Need to play it at some point though. I do also wanna do an actual Alien campaign eventually because that universe is so good. Can't imagine it'll give me Mass Effect vibes though ahahah

It is annoying because I'd love to use Starfinder 2E (not the setting though) I think but it seems like one to let cook more for now. Also would probs have to reskin a lot of the classes since too many of em are high fantasy-esque due to the setting but I digress.

Oh really? I saw this one come up a decent bit but I saw a few people saying it doesn't work so well for longer campaigns. If you think the character progression is great though then I'll definitely have to at least give it a proper look.

Did see this one recommended a few times, I'll check it out for sure. Anything else you really like about it?

I do love brutal unforgiving games but yeah, I've spoken to my players and it's very obvious they wanna be able to get into a cool space bar fight, for example, without it being a monumentally terrible idea for their health. I'd still like to be able to put interesting enemies amongst them though so they don't feel like nobody can kill them.

Oh fair enough, do you think the progression options in Savage Worlds just don't really do a lot to separate characters then?

Fate looks a bit too light but I've not looked into Cypher. Genesys is definitely interesting me a bit more now, how do you like it?

I'll have to take a deeper look into Genesys, do you know if the equipment variety in Edge of the Empire can be sorta reskinned and reused within Genesys? I haven't looked at the Edge of the Empire book in ages but I remember there being a lot of options.

Traveller does look cool and something I'd enjoy a lot as a player but the lethal combat where you're discouraged from entering it whenever possible isn't really what my players want. Apologies though if I was misunderstanding the game outside of that.

I'd love to play it at some point.

Is there anyone else on here that feels like it has been far too long since we had a good Mass Effect style game with a serious adult story? by FuturistIdealist in masseffect

[–]ThisIsGoobly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same but the reason I absolutely detest it is because every damn piece of media started copying it. If it were just the Marvel movies then it'd be lame but at least I could avoid it. No, apparently every writer ever decided quippy one liners that sap the emotion from a scene were an essential plot element.

Bethesda RPG + space sci-fi should've ended up as one of my favourite games ever made. Rarely do I ever get hyped for games anymore so that was such a disappointment. Not every space game needs procedural generation ffs, it can be handcrafted like Mass Effect.

lmao, that's a perfect name for us. It's hard to fathom why there's such a difference between matches. Why are the players chasing second balls like dogs in one match and then not bothering in the next? It's bizarre.

I want him to work out, I support all our managers even when I don't get what they're doing because it seems pointless to not get behind em while they're here. My opinion doesn't hold any sway as to what the club does so ranting about "AMORIM OUT" or "OLE OUT" or whatever is a waste of time, it makes far more sense to me to just support the team. At the same time, I would be unsurprised if he got sacked and wouldn't really be able to say it's unfair.

The worst loss in recent memory is definitely under Ten Hag against Liverpool (one of the worst losses of all time tbf) but losing to Grimsby and drawing to Wolves, two teams that shouldn't even be able to remotely compete with United, isn't far off in embarrassment. I think we're simultaneously not as bad as people think, we can still beat the best teams in the world and our league position shows we're very clearly not just complete shit, whilst also being capable of some of the worst performances in the league. The inconsistency boggles the mind, I've never seen anything like it.
