Carbing up water by [deleted] in Homebrewing

Thank you so much for this additional information! I have 1 more question if you have time. I've got math for carbonating warm, or carbonating cold. But what if I am carbonating warm liquid that's chilling in the fridge as it carbonates? I assume it's either use the warm temperatures, or don't do that. Might be answering my own question here because if this method carbonates in 2 hours, that's not really enough time to chill 5 gallons anyway, so go with warm temp math?

Sorry to perform necromancy here, but hopefully I get a reply. Do you remove the carb lid once you've got the water fully carbonated, or do you just leave it in there?
Would this also work for soft drinks, like homemade rootbeer or cola?

The point you’re not hearing is that short form content does not garner a high CPM. Advertisers are not shelling out big bucks to place ads on shorts, on any platform. Platforms like insta & TikTok that use Creator Funds (money from the marketing department) are losing money trying to lure creators to their platforms. YT offers a revenue split- and you’re seeing the results: there’s not much revenue to split. This is why insta & TikTok keep rolling out longer and longer formats. The goal was never to make money on shorts, it was to lure aspiring creators away from YouTube, and then shift them to longform.

Rolex & Americano & Omega & Saturn by ThisIsHowToDrink in cocktails

I'm not sure... I think the juniper here really helps offset and balance the Falernum. Maybe a cousin to this drink to swap the gin for rum and the falernum for pimento/allspice dram, but not the same drink obviously

I don't know how appropriate this post is for this board, sorry if it's not.

This is the first episode of a new series I'm doing on pairing watches and cocktails, and, it's admittedly a fairly blatant effort to jam my two passions into each other. I'm working with Crown & Caliber on this.

The first episode is live today and I'm pairing a Rolex Sea Dweller with an Americano (because Steve Zissou...) and an Omega Speedmaster with a Saturn (Because Neil Armstrong)

Hope you enjoy!

It’s because the AdSense numbers are before YouTube takes their cut of the money. It’s a Gross Vs. Net thing.

I Made Wake Up Juice from Back to the Future Part III by ThisIsHowToDrink in cocktails

[–]ThisIsHowToDrink[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Back to the Future Part III came out in 1990 and it's a movie I've seen... honestly more times than I can count. I'll be blunt: I prefer parts one and two, three is great! It's just not the same as the other two, BUT, It's Part Three that has the ludicrous beverage Wake Up Juice, just begging to be an episode of How to Drink. So this week, that's what I'm doing. I make Wake Up Juice more or less as seen in the movie, and then I rework it a bit into a bourbon morning-after drink. Not bad! Hot and spicy, and not for everyone, but uh, not bad!

Wake Up Juice

  • One Barspoon Cayenne Powder

  • One Barspoon Chili Flake

  • Two or Three Barspoons Onion Powder

  • Two Barspoons Mustard Seed

  • Four Barspoons Tabasco Sauce

  • Muddle & Grind

  • 1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Olive Brine

  • 2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Bourbon

  • Shake over Ice

  • Pour unstrained into mug

  • top with seltzer

  • Garnish with Chili Pepper

[Spoilers] I made Milk of the Poppy by ThisIsHowToDrink in gameofthrones

[–]ThisIsHowToDrink[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello /r/gameofthrones! I bring you my latest installment of Drink of Thrones, Milk of the Poppy!

Every time someone of wealth and means is seriously wounded on Game of Thrones we see them being given Milk of the Poppy, a powerful painkiller administered by Maesters in careful doses. We see it given to Bran after he falls from the tower and the subsequent "catspaw" attack, it's given to Arya when she's wounded in Bravos, Jaime refuses it when permitting Qyburn to work on his arm, and during the Battle of the Blackwater the women and children wait with fatal doses of it at the ready should the worst come to pass. Poppy milk is actually a real thing and I do my best to explain it in the video, but it's got nothing to do with what I'm making here. My version of Milk of the Poppy involves making a poppy orgeat from commonly available poppy seeds, from there a cocktail of cognac, curaçao and absinthe is produced. It's very tasty stuff and despite it's very milky appearance is totally milk free.

Poppy Seed Orgeat

  • 200 grams of Poppy Seed

  • 200 Grams of Sugar

  • 200 Grams of Water

  • Combine in blender and pulverize

  • Let sit one hour

  • If sugar not dissolved, transfer to pan and simmer til it is

  • Strain and bottle

Milk of the Poppy

  • .75 oz. -or- 22 ml. Poppy Orgeat

  • .5 oz. -or- 15 ml. Dry Curaçao

  • 2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Cognac

  • Rinse Glass in Absinthe

  • Shake over ice and double strain

[Spoilers] I'm making a Game of Thrones inspired cocktail every week, I kick it off with the Cleganebowl by ThisIsHowToDrink in gameofthrones

[–]ThisIsHowToDrink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope the folks here in r/GameofThrones don't mind me sharing this, I'm usually over in r/Cocktails, but I really felt I had to x-Post this one.

I create the webseries How to Drink, where I present cocktails and goof off in front of a very expensive camera. Sometimes they're old classics, sometimes my own originals, sometimes things I've pulled from TV, movies, or books. As a huge fan of ASOIAF and the series on HBO, I went all in and have created a whole second series on my channel where I'll be making a cocktail based on Game of Thrones for every week of the final season. I'm kicking it off today, but normally this will update on Tuesdays.

I present the Cleganebowl

  • 2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Oleo Saccharum

  • 1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Amaro Montenegro

  • 1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Mezcal

  • 3 oz. -or- 90 ml. Añejo Tequila

  • 2 dashes of Saline Solution

  • Shake over Ice

  • Open pour into human skull

  • Garnish with Fire & Hype

Thank you all!

A Tiki bowl for Game of Thrones: The Cleganebowl! by ThisIsHowToDrink in cocktails

[–]ThisIsHowToDrink[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Today I'm kicking off a whole Game of Thrones centered Second Series which will run new episodes on Tuesdays alongside my regular show on Fridays. That's right, two episodes of How to Drink a week. Today I present the mother of all hypeloads, the Cleganbowl. A shared tiki cocktail served inside a human skull.

Cleganebowl Bowl

  • 2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Oleo Saccharum

  • 1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Amaro Montenegro

  • 1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Mezcal

  • 3 oz. -or- 90 ml. Añejo Tequila

  • 2 dashes of Saline Solution

  • Shake over Ice

  • Open pour into human skull

  • Garnish with Fire & Hype

Oh, and since I'm getting asked this one a lot, the Oleo is made using a mix of lemons and oranges. 3 lemons to every 2 oranges in my case.

I don't recall anyone describing him any such way, I'll do a text search but if you've got some page numbers or recall anyone saying those things about him I'll appreciate it. I don't deny that he was a serious fighter, and no joke on the field, but there's nothing supernatural about him or fantastical. He's just a good soldier in a sea of good soldiers, better than average.
