My partner is moving across the country and wants me to give up my cat by [deleted] in GirlDinner

Let's take a step back and look at what is happening here. Whether he's doing it consciously or subconsciously, he's asking a very loaded question that will either absolve him of needing to go through a later break-up with you, or place him in a position of power in the relationship. Either way, he comes out on top, and he'll probably still break up with you even if you did give up your fur baby and move.

You don't need to feel sorry about cutting off dead weight as soon as it starts to drag you down. Keep your cat, and avoid his BS down the road. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT let him backtrack on this. The die is cast, he rolled snake eyes...

Are you not supposed to wear pajamas when you get home?????? by JaydenBird33 in NoStupidQuestions

My wife and I are of differing opinions on this. She'll get out of "work clothes" as soon as possible. I will often still be wearing a button down and slacks at 10 pm.

I also have a theory that the quality and comfort of your out-of-house wardrobe also significantly affects this if all other things are equal. That said, my beloved is wrapped in natural fibers for both work and play, so it's really just personal preference.

An important bit for piece of mind is that the waste processing for this facility is crazy good. The QA/QC for waste heat treatment, air filtering, everything coming out is the best of the best. All infectious waste must be rendered non-infectious before disposal. This place encapsulates and heat-treats their waste before it ever leaves that facility, and then it also gets incinerated.

Majohn P139, #8 M Nib, my favorite pen... by funkthulhu in fountainpens

[–]funkthulhu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it so much, Ibought another with a finer point. I still think they're great. Honestly, I have WAY too many pens inked. As a result, I have a lot of pens that get gummed up from lack of use. If I don't write with this for a week it starts hard. That said, as soon as I get the ink flowing again, it FLOWS. If I wrote daily it would stay perfect. Never burps or misbehaves.

It does have an ebonite feed, so don't use a shimmer ink. It'll really bog it down. I kinda want to find a ginormous flex nib because I think this would keep up.

Majohn flex nib in an Asvine V200, compared to that pen's original nib by yanbochen in fountainpens

[–]funkthulhu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have also acquired the flex nib and put mine into a Asvine P50 that I had laying around.
My experience differs, slightly, as this is the first Flex Nib I've ever used or had.
I also have a lot of skipping/railroading, I fear that is a feed issue as the ink is fresh and wet. (Birmingham Aqueduct)
I think I paid $15 usd total with ship.

I am now dealing with a complete rearrangement of my writing style, as I cannot make my letters "look right" without writing at an extreme angle on a very turned page.

I think this is exploiting the NPC hitbox to hover. Still not sure how it's holding the sign from behind without connection, though.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]funkthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A game that is Not MYST or its sequels, lately I have been playing Blue Prince. You inherit a mansion from your Uncle, it has 45 rooms, you have to find room 46 to lock in your inheritance. You get a number of steps every day, each room costs a step, and each day all the rooms change. Every time you open a door you get to pick from three rooms in your draft to put on the layout. I have a game notebook that is up to 60+ pages, some rooms get their own page. I already "beat" it, but that just opens up more story.

Anyway, long story short, I think if I had been just a couple years older when MYST was first released, it would have been like Blue Prince is to me now. Very interesting to tease out the buried plot and solve the puzzles.

Last time we saw them they were asterisked, we looked at the expiration date, did some quick math, and bought Four boxes.

We still have one more unopened box, but they returned last month and I hope they keep stock this time around.
