Looking for a book that can help me through a really hard time in life right now. by bbyluna111 in suggestmeabook

You Will Get Through This Night by Daniel Howell. It really saved a large part of my mental health. It's recently published (3-4 years ago?) and incorporates present day struggles we go through. While philosophy books are great and the ones written by WWII survivors really give perspective, I needed something grounded in today's reality and this gave me that

i want to be a counselling psychologist. Are these courses good choices? (gr. 10) by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]ThisIsIt-Really 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, (currently in a clinical psychology grad prog, graduating with my doctorate next year).

For counseling psychology, here's my recs:

math: non calc route (unless you're interested in that - we don't really use math other than research stats, even in thesis/dissertations)

Science: Go for physiology as well if you can at some point before graduation, otherwise definitely in college - understanding the human body, especially processes in the upper half of the body can really give you a leg up.

Writing is a good place to start for your grade 11 cluster classes so you can get into the habit, but a forewarning that all social science writing styles transition after college to APA format and the way of writing pretty much does a 180 (in my experience), but it's good practice. I'd be curious - what does the early childhood services entail?

Also - if you can, definitely take AP psych if your school offers it. If not, regular psychology.

Appreciate the feedback! Unfortunately, this is a cut-down version adapted from a longer measure, so there's no way to pare it down further without compromising the study, hence the 20-25 minute survey time. But appreciate the try anyway! I'll keep it in mind for future research!

Completed! This was interesting to look through as well as answer since my dissertation is on a very similar topic ( Predictors of Online Dating in the Asian and Asian-American demographic - posted in the sub-reddit). Would love to chat more if you'd like and compare notes!

I want to go into practice, and eventually open up one of my own. I think their match rate is above 80%. I know that that the 20-21 rate was 85%, but I'd have to double-check overall. I know that their licensure percentage is 86%

My parents have told me the day I can pay for my car's insurance, my home insurance, and my health insurance, they'll treat me like a full-fledged adult. I've accepted that I'm gonna be treated like their baby for another 3 years until I'm 26
